I don't know if this will help in your predicament, but I've used it to remove mud from my FJ after fun runs. Stick an oscillating lawn sprinkler running full force under the car, moving it fore/aft/port/starboard every 15 minutes and maybe after a couple of hours it might help.

Try "Nilodor" if you can get it. 1 drop is enough to get rid of majority of bad odors. You might need a few more for a skunk.

Tamatoe Juice literally... Soak all contacted bits rub it in then rinse. #1 way to rid of a skunks ass smell on exterior pieces. Inside well just let it air out not a big deal.

I had the same unfortunate run in with a skunk in my 86 back in the fall. I took it to a car wash with under-spray, febreezed the hell out of the interior fabrics/carpet and wiped down the hard surfaces, left it in the garage with the windows down... and it still took more than a few days for the smell to go away, more like a few weeks.

Now, something like 5 months later, I can sometimes still catch a whiff of it every now and then, but hopefully it's just the area I'm driving through at the time.

Too bad about your car. You may have to submerge it in tomato juice for at least 48 hours.

Even after that ..... you will never know when the smell will return. Maybe late some night, when you have a hot date and pull over to see if it's your lucky night and turn the heater up and your date ..... goes ewwww ..... WHAT is that smell ...... and throws up ....

humfrz
Thank you for your advice.

I will NEVER, NEVER do that again.

Hard to describe, it just stinks and hard to get rid of if it gets on something! Skunks have their own smell. Found the below online

The smell of skunk spray has been described as smelling like rotten eggs. The smell up close is very powerful and can make eyes water and even cause breathing problems. The smell can lingerer for a very long time.
