Sure thing. I could have sworn I sent it months ago. But maybe I didn't bother once I confirmed that it was compatible with the B00C XML. I just used that to create the B01C XML we have been offering to our OFT customers.

[QUOTE=regal;1596059]Did the dealership threaten you with a $50 charge if they found nohing wrong?
I only have one car right now and can't leave it over night to prove the idle isues. You would think TSB = no BS. Regal My experience was no BS, my warranty on my FRS covers everything and I did pay a ton for it. My ecu was never flashed with a tune but I did have complications using ecuflash/op2.0/RR but somehow I was able to flashed my ecu back to stock using A00C.srf image. I will never know if they did found out I was trying to flash but did not say anything about it due to my warranty/TSB. |

My FRs is my only car right now (the Yaris hit a patch od blackice and needs a door) so I can't leave it at the dealer overhigh, plus TSB or not they won't shash the 2 year old calib with the new one unless the find something wrong with he cold starte idle. And if they don't no new flashand a $50 bill. This is on top of a 50 minute drive. The post of the rom is xlm, I am ued to bin. Is that just a hex editor change (I still need to read up)?

The XML file your looking at is the definition file file the ROM it defines the locations and structure of the tables in the ROM. You need the matching Binary file as well Td-d did the def for romraider for B01 but as yet not the Ecuflash def for B01 |

You need to differentiate between the binary (the hex file) and the definition file required to edit the rom, and flash it onto the ecu. I have the B01C rom - if FRS-AZ can confirm it's stock, then I can send you a link. As I said in the other thread, if all you're looking to do is have the ability to flash the latest rom on, then Ecuflash and an OP2 will be the cheapest - will set you back $169. |

Man you are great just ordered a tatrix cable and plan on standing up my appointment with the dealer. Thanks a ton. I hope you stick with this forum, there are some uneducated morons but smart smart ones too. And hopefully by the time I get some VA I can use the same cable/software to tune a header/uppipe.

@Td-d
With Ecuflash/tectrix Is it possible to flash a ROM either .bin or .srf that you have pulled from a BRZ/86 back without a definition file. Assuming you do not want to change anything just simply flash back the file that you just read previously. It appears the "BRZ flashing Tool" in ecuflash contains the addresses for start/end of read/write as they do not appear to be in the def files and all ROM's appear to be same size. So could you just make a "dummy" def file containing just the basic's to enable a ROM without a definition to be flashed without the ability to edit. thanks |

Since I don't have a BRZ, I've not personally done that, but it's very easy to create a barebones definition for flashing.
You would open the rom in Ecuflash, it will tell you it does not have a definition, do you want to create one. You press yes, and then click on from scratch. Then you choose SH72531 under memory module, and Subarubrz flashing method. The unique identifier is at 8000 and 8 bytes long. Fill the rom info in with the year, model etc. - not critical that this is accurate if you're just using it to flash. Click Finish, and when you're back in Ecuflash, click on file, and 'Save Models'. There should be a definition for pretty much all the roms out there, unless they are seriously old / deprecated. |
