Awesome thanks! One option for me if I don't need the hood normally for heat is to keep the guards in and remove them on hotter days/track days.

I might be heading up to Florida in about a month, I'd loce to check out your car in person if you're around and have time!

We'll see

Plenty of people swap parts for track days, wouldn't be the first time.

If I'm not mistaken, the design of the car has the engine bay hot air exhausting out the bottom of the car, from behind the engine.

I plan to modify my metal skid plate (cut some of it away making a bigger hole) and adding a rubber strip, essentially making an upside-down "Gurney Flap" just in front of the hole in the skid plate. I think this will really help with evacuating the hot air from the engine bay when the car is moving.

The design of the car wasn't intended for giant turbo open exposed exhaust pipes either.

I doubt an automotive engineer would design a car for heat to sink out the bottom, unless they've also defied physics.

It's more likely that they've designed the tolerances of the engine for higher heat to allow for underbody covering, despite trapping hot air. I would rather believe aerodynamics as it pertains to gas mileage, to be the main driver for the paneling.

Looking at the design of the undertray, behind the metal skidplate, it has scoops that look to me like they pull air in directly behind the metal skidplate. This I think is designed to then pull air from the engine bay.

I was told that the design of the car was to exhaust the engine bay hot air out under the car.

It makes sense to me, there's nowhere else for it to go, no vents, no holes, the only opening in the engine bay for air to escape is down at the bottom.

I could be wrong though.

Has anyone installed the full combo with AVO turbo kit? How compatible are they?

Received mine yesterday in just 2 days!! Sorry for the hazy pics but don't let them fool you. This is a well built piece. Couldn't be happier with it.

Just installed the FBM radiator and fan setup. Install was a PITA just because of how much shit you have to take off just to put a radiator in.

I only have 2 complaints about this setup. One is no biggie, the other is a bit annoying. The no biggie is the connectors. I wish they would have a sub harness of sorts to make it more plug and play. The annoying one is there is no place to bolt in the coolant overflow tank. I would like to think that for the price you pay you'd get at least 1 mounting point. As it sits right now, it's just sitting in the engine bay unsecured.

Overall though I am still satisfied with it. Compared to the OEM unit, this is a huge upgrade. I could not believe how rinky dink the stock unit is. Every thing went in fairly well. It is a snug fit and you have to work it to get it 100% in place but it's well worth it.

Stock next to FBM

OEM not even as thick as my finger tip.

FBM fixes that.

@FullBlown FWIW I give this a 7 out if 10. It's a very well built piece. If you could get at least 1 mounting point on it (the fan shroud) for the coolant overflow it'd get a 9 out of 10. Add a sub harness and it'd get a 10 out of 10 from me. For the price I'm very satisfied with it. I would recommend it to anyone.

Tried to get a decent pic but it was kind of hard holding the camera and the overflow tank at the same time but maybe you could weld a "leg" here that is threaded on the end. There looks to be just enough room where it could bolt on. Didn't place the arrow very well. A little more to the left I think would be better representation of where it could be.

You know, I totally didn't realize that it completely eliminates the mounting point because most of the guys who purchased this setup has our turbo kit.

Our turbo kit comes with (2) brackets to mount the resevoir. Dustin, please PM me your full name and shipping address and I will send you a set of brackets.
