I did however say that those who park away have a higher chance of getting a ding cause some people will think you're an elitist prick for parking you car far away.
It seems like we have a lot of double parkers on this forum, doesn't it?

I kinda feel like it's equally as bad to go out of your way to park extra close to said double parking asshole. You're there to go to work/the store/strip club ... not to go out of your way to "get back" at someone.

I could see your anger with a double parker if they do so in a full lot... otherwise who gives a damn? Don't you have better things to worry about?

Did your coworker leave a note when this happened?

not entirely. While for guest it's mostly street parking for out side,
a lot of the small restaurant/food plaza area, basically places i go to on daily bases, and the apartment complex in roughly 10~20 minute drive from UC have extremely small parking spaces, the apartment it self also requires to park two cars in one lane while leaving very little wiggle room ( This was 7 years ago,I was driving an 1996 accord back then maybe it got a lot better lately since you seems to live there right now?)

No, he did not leave a note.
He didn't even know his grandson damaged the car when it happened.
He only realized what happened after he dropped off his grandson and start talking to the police next to his car. (the owner called the Irvine police)

I have a crew cab Silverado that has a wheelchair conversion. The pair of drivers doors slide out about 3 feet and a platform lowers myself and my wheelchair to the ground. If I can find one of the wide or van accesible spots I will use that. If not I have sometimes double parked far out in the lot to be able to get in my truck. Now if someone did that shit to my vehicle, there is not a hole deep enough I won't find them. When I bought my current truck I had it for maybe 3 days when some motherfucker keyed it to metal from one end to the other on the passenger side. It took going through video footage from 8 businesses until I found them. Some punk on parole that just did it for fun. I tracked them down and made sure they got violated back to prison. You never mess with peoples cars, ever.

Agreed. Pretty sad when people get so worked up about how other people park their cars.

Personally I don't think this is a "double park" car. Porsche yea, Autin Marton, yea, Lotus, etc. This is a budget sportly little GT, makes a good communter and can have some fun on the back roads. But its not show piece or high dollar elite car by any means.

Just buff it out and move on, life's too short.

The key in this case too is that it's not even real spray paint. It rubs off. Totally not worth getting upset over.

Two Lessons:

Lessons to learn from this:

1. If you take multiple spaces when parking, expect "another" ass to screw with your car.

2. Don't ever screw with someone else car.

3. I you have a medical and/or legal (depending on your municipality) reason to park this way, you should still expect an ass to screw with your car. I mean, they are an ass after all.

That's how I "doublepark" to minimize door encounters:

I don't have an issue with how your car is parked. You are NOT taking an extra space that someone else might use. It's actually a pretty good idea. No love for the Honda driver tho.

I still have a problem with those who DO take two spaces. That is just plain wrong. And no one can seriously argue about it.
