Broken Rear Seat Release

I've just bought a used FR-S. One of the releases for the rear seat is broken and pushed down into the backrest. The other release seems to be stuck. Is this common? and is this something that should be under warranty?

The rear seat releases are in the trunk. Those cylindrical columns that you can see from inside the cabin are useless and sink into the seat cushion when it has positive lock against the latch.

CN: pull the tabs in the trunk and watch your rear seat fix itself.

The cylindrical column thing has completely fallen into backrest.

One sits flush with the plastic trim piece, and the other is out of sight floating around in the backrest. I'll have to take a picture.

Oh, it's broken off and inside the rear backrest? You're screwed, buddy. I doubt the dealership will be willing to warranty replace that on a used car. Hell, even on a new car they'd probably blame owner negligence for not understanding how the mechanism works and make you pay the money to replace the whole thing.

They also said they'd replace the tail light (condensation) after I bought the car. This was yesterday. Thinking back, I should have got that in writing.

Are those rear seats something that can be warranty replaced, though? Seems like every dealer service department would try to claim owner negligence...

Open up the seat and try and figure out where it went. That's an odd one for sure.
