So it replaces the rear shifter bushing that many of us have already replaced...but the key piece seems to be the adapter "Item 1" from what I can tell.

Reduced height is a function of the lever itself which this does not change. You would need a short shifter kit - all of which include a reduced height lever.

Came here to post the instructions but looks like I got beat to the punch. Going to be installing this hopefully this weekend, and I'll try to document it as I go

If you can, please note the position of the rear control shaft (Figs 3-8 through 3-11) before and after install. Want to know if the rear mount is there for feel or if it changes the angle of the shaft.

Ditto.

If it's just there for feel, I think I could go back to my stock shifter for this (would make for an easy install since I currently have the kartboy short shifter installed, so the shifter to be modified isn't sitting installed in the car right now), as I think I want to go back to stock shifter lever height and swappable lockout lever. But I like my KB's fast shifts a bit too much w/ the mtec springs

I've got the Perrin transmission mount, and the whiteline positive shift kit and I couldn't tell the difference between OEM and the MTEC springs. Not sure anyone will if they've made a major mod to the shift characteristics.

I'm interested in this piece though...thanks for the input.

Bah. If I did that I could just buy it myself and install the two back to back!

Just reading through the instructions it looks like main difference that Adapter (item 1). The adapter looks like it fits over the knuckle at the base of the shift lever, and extends the connection to the shift control shaft downwards. I'm not entirely sure how this results in an appreciable reduction in shift throw, but I'll know more once I start taking it apart.

As far as the rear mounting bracket, it's hard to tell in these pictures, but looks pretty much the same.

Will know more this weekend.

That is exactly what I postulated, though the mode was not apparent to me - thanks!

Remember that the rod that is inserted into the rear bushing (that's what she said! ) is connected to the plate onto which the shifter itself moves around on via the greased ball (that's also what she said).

So, altering the angle on that would change how the shifter is oriented in the cabin.
