I just ordered plastidip and various accessories to dip my wheels, going with black initially, if I don't like it the other color I was looking at was Charcoal. I've decided that it is not going to be "a couple months" before I have my finances in order to be able to purchase wheels, tires, get them fitted and balanced, and installed (I could do the last part myself). It's going to be at least 6-9 months being optimistic. At least this way I can continue on my path. I will likely postpone wheels until after I get the oil cooler and catch can installed. Those are much more feasable and will help with the well being of my car. That all said, I got some projects coming up and this coming thursday a number of us ATX 86ers are going to be camped out at DIY Texas and I will get a number of things accomplished (hopefully).

1) Swap to Motul Gear 300 in my rear differential
2) Install the replica oem rear diffuser
3) Plasti Dip my oem wheels black and reinstall them with my Muteki blue lugs (saving the hassle of installing the blue valve stems for when I get my TSW Nurbs).

YAY projects!!

Just swapped the rear differential oil to Motul Gear 300. Also picked up the replica oem rear diffuser from @trevorovert tonight! I just need to find some stainless bolts and I'm also considering painting it WRB. I need to get some GIMP action going before I buy any paint or install anything. As always, opinions are welcome. FWIW, I'd be using GrimmSpeed's WRB rattle can(s).

So, since I'll be autocrossing C'thulhu I'll be dropping the oil cooler from my current list of mods as that would place me in street modified which is too competitive of a classification for my newbie driver skills. That said, all my other mods should keep me in street touring, STX to be specific. If I overlooked any when reading the rules, I'll be quadruple checking prior to installing them! C'eis la vie! That said, the parts I have for the forester xt oil cooler will be for sale as soon as I get more organized!

Also, decided I'm going to go catless on my headers and stick with a catted front pipe as that will keep me street legal in Travis county (I live in an obd2 county, no visual) and I'll still be compliant with STX class in autocross! 8)

So I autocrossed today, my times were pretty bad, but not too bad for a complete newbie like myself. First lap around Harris Hill was 116 seconds, my 4th and final lap was 100 seconds, a 14% increase in ability is pretty decent with only some rudimentary instruction! I definitely need to schedule a HPDE class to really shed those seconds though. My primary observation regarding the car is I definitely need to ditch the stock tires and lighter wheels will definitely compound the improvement.

Edit: So, I just learned that my master cylinder brace is illegal for the class I am running in autox. Fortunately it is easy enough to remove that I can easily keep it for daily driving and just remove it for autox!

Dry fit of the replica oem diffuser. I have acquired some alternative fasteners to complete the install. I'll be acquiring some WRB paint matched rattle cans from @GrimmSpeed to paint diffuser with.

Edit: paint is ordered! arrival is TBD. Special thanks to @trevorovert for hooking me up with the diffuser in the first place!

Also, some pics of the rear diffuser installed. I still need a couple more fasteners to finish it off, but it is not going anywhere currently. Also, I have WRB paint on order from @GrimmSpeed to paint the diffuser with.

Painted it this afternoon, I messed up in a couple places. When I get back from work, I'll see how it dried and if I am ok with it or if I will start over again on Saturday. I bought extra paint just for this reason!

Also, I stripped the paint off my rear diffuser, it looked worse than flaming dog doo.
