I've seen people embed charts before, but I don't know how to do it.

I attached it as a zip file in my original post. I suppose that will work if someone wants to open it and peruse.

Last night we plasma cut the doors and the cage is going in. Planning to be complete on Thursday. Here's some pictures, just for fun:

This thread has made me realize that you need to slice metal to really gut the car and shave significant amounts of weight. I think if someone was willing to hack and replace well, you can probably cut weight and add strength by dropping in a cage. Heck, if done well, it could probably hide pretty well in the factory skin too with just enough love to show that it is there and look clean.

I want to just take the carbon fiber route eventually.

Check with me in 2 months or so. My car is getting a full cage in about 3 months, but will be kept street legal for the occassional drive to a car show or something. Thus keeping the bars as far away from my head and out of sight will be desirable. I'm buying a bender from harbor freight this week so I can take my time to get the front bars and main roll hoop in the exact positions I want.

Hey Anthony, have you actually put the car on a truck stop scale, or are you just going by what you removed? Are you planning on having it weighed that way?

I've added up everything I've removed, but I still haven't weighed the car. When people ask what it weighs, I tell them I don't know exactly, but SUPPOSEDLY, a stock BRZ weighs 2,750 with a full tank of gas. That's a suspiciously even number, but I got it from the Official Weights thread.

I'm going to do that or use the individual corner weights at my base. I just don't want to drive the car to my base because it's a bunch of unneeded highway miles.

Subaru lists the manual limited BRZ at 2,762 IIRC. They have all of the weights for the different submodels and they don't sound as oddly specific as the toyota weight.

What does Toyota claim?

Also, I've heard many times that the BRZ is marginally heavier than the FR-S.

The BRZ does have underbody aero, lights in the door cars, and I am sure there are probably other little things like the trunk liner that the BRZ has that add up here and there.
