This. Mitsubishi is focusing on SUV's right now. I don't see the platform lasting in it's current state for another 12-24 months.

I've actually seen a handful of Mirages running around. So there must be people buying them. I see Outlanders and Outlander Sports every once in a while as well.

However, I still prefer a 86/BRZ more. What do you guys think?

Living in Minnesota and experiencing this horrible winter I have to say I agree with you. The WRX is my first AWD sportscar and as a daily driver I don't see myself going back to FWD or RWD anytime soon as a daily driver. As a weekend fun car I can see myself owning a fun RWD car though.

So, according to Mitsubishi's US site, here is their current lineup:

Lancer - Starts at $17,195
Lancer Sportback - Starts at $18,595
Lancer Evolution - Starts at $34,995 (this is the GSR/5spd manual, the MR starts at $38,195)
Mirage - Starts at $12,995 (almost $16,000 with the 1.2L engine with CVT)
Outlander Sport
Outlander

i-MiEV (coming Spring 2014) - At a starting price of $15,495 it's not bad for people looking for a cheap full-electric vehicle

Well-equipper the Evo. X is $43K before taxes and fees.

No wonder it's dying out.

I think Mitsubishi is a little too busy trying to exist than put any attention to a low volume sporty car. So even if it did exist, it wouldn't have nearly the amount of chassis modifications, purpose built parts and R&D that the 86 platform was made with. It's only selling points would probably end up being looks and price. But I would not bet on Mitsubishi being that adventurous with design either.

Yeah my GSX was the same. I will say however my 550whp 3000gt was very reliable for being as built as it was
