I would like it a lot if it didn't look like that.

It is about to transform...too much going on.

The only car I would buy from the company is an EVO but other than that I agree with most people that it is a dying brand. No eclipse..

lol, only on the internet would "I owned a DSM from 20 years ago and it sucked, so the new EVO must suck" be stated as a valid claim.

It'll be interesting to see how long Mitsubishi can stay put in the market here. Lots of people claim they're dead or dying, but I'll keep quiet until the last dealership closes down.

I do like that rendering but i don't know if i would call it a contender for the brz/frs due to it being fwd.. That is like comparing the gti to a 370z. Their pricing is ridiculous on the evo 42k!!!!! As much as I love evos I can't justify spending that on one I would much rather have a 335xi than an evo.

I've owned 2 Mitsu's. My current is extremely fast and fun (heavily modified obviously) but pretty much the best AWD system I've driven, especially in the snow here (and we get a lot).

Their biggest issue is simply having left the performance game. Even the EvoX and Ralliart require quite a bit of mods and tuning to get them to the spirit of the Evo9 and predecessors. With cars like the iMiev and new Mirage, it's a disgusting brand. There's no reason to make eco-friendly or "sport" cars aesthetically brutal like they do. It's pretty sad, but unless they revamp and bring back a true sports car lineup (AWD Eclipse turbo, New Evo, 3000GT supercar type V6TT AWD), they're toast.

But without these kinds of cars they can't offset CAFE ratings to build such sports cars. And I don't think they need to have an entire lineup of sports cars to keep the brand afloat. The opposite, actually, since sports cars are a small niche. They need a new, GOOD midsize and compact that can compete with the Camry and Accord, and Corolla and Civic respectively. Get that bread and butter established and then get your new sports car up on the side. With exception of the Evo, the rest of their vehicles are simply forgettable.

They just need to make eco sports cars. The next Evo was supposed to be a diesel hybrid which would be just fine as long as it made 300whp/300wtq. The torque curve on a diesel would be excellent and very low down, they just are getting terrible designers and not thinking outside the box.

I wish the sub-brand Ralliart would fully reopen and make their own cars like SRT does with Dodge now.

It is obvious the car isn't real and regardless AWD or FWD it is still apples to oranges. You are talking about AWD Eclipses well that came from the DSM era and as much as I hate to say it the DSM is done. Dodge and Mitsu still team up they did with making little bits and pieces for my car SRT4 they also did it with the evo x by putting the 4b11s higher displacement 4b12 in the SRT4 caliber.

I made the assumption based on the fact that DSM is done and the fact that if there is a next gen eclipse they simply can't afford to risk making an AWD eclipse and have it fail.

Like mentioned before Mitsubishi is having a rough time right now and I can't tell you the last time someone traded in a new Mitsu or even seen one on the road other than a lancer I have seen more ralliarts and evo xs around me than base lancers and that right there should tell you something.

Mitsu simply can't afford to risk creating a car like the BRZ or FRS why because they don't have the revenue that Toyota/Scion or Subaru has.
