All the story.....sorry...unable to link...policies/forum rules don't
"However, I smacked into a brick wall 3 weeks ago. The car would not start at all after I installed a brand new GTS cluster. SUBARU has taken car security to another level. The 86 is not a car thieves' dream car to steal. SUBARU has a clever car security system that is quite brilliant. The Key transponder, Immobiliser, ECU, and the Cluster constantly communicates with each other, even rescrambling new codes after 5 attempts to start the car illegally. Anyhow, buying a 2nd hand 86/BRZ cluster would not be worl $2 dollars actually. You can't use it at all! (that's what I felt 3 weeks ago)."

I'm as much a nut bag for the STi letters as the next guy. But swapping out the gauge cluster is just too much trouble for me. If it gave up a substantial value (Like goin from the Base Outback to Outback Limited with Electro-Luminescant Gauges), then yeah I'd be all over it. But to just get the STi lettering in the cluster? Count me out.

Lighting is indeed different, in KM only instead of MPH and KM, and the font is a tad different. I wanted the cluster but this makes me not really want it ever haha.

The lighting is white instead of the orangy-red.

Yeah, the analog speedometer would be in metric, but honestly I don't know of anyone who uses the analog speedo in the car o.O. As long as the digital readout is dual, its functionally fine.

So I'm not sure if anyone bothered to check, but MSRP on the stock USDM cluster is $513.50. I think we need to confrim with Yuki to make sure it's just the overlay and not the cluster itself.
