Double parking makes you a target for vandalism.
I mean, who could think straddling painted stripes on asphalt is sanctuary from chips and dents from the other animals in the jungle?
Your just pissing off the monkeys.

This video looks fake... full of actors; seems like they were all mic'd up! You can even see what seems to be a mic cord hanging from that pick-up truck guy.

Double parking is a very dbag move, I agree. If you park away from the crowd then there is no need to double park. Parking away from the crowd and staying in the lines seems fair enough.

If you honestly believe "it's going to happen anyways" then do us all a favor and go put a few dents in your doors and then post the pictures. It's gonna happen anyways, right?

Until you can post pics of you denting your own doors then quit acting like a hard ass through your keyboard and responding to people with "It's gonna happen eventually."

That's an amazing jump of logic, to go from the fact that all cars experience damage to asking people to intentionally cause the damage themselves. I merely stated a fact, that's hardly a tough guy routine.

Your attitude sucks. If I were local to you I'd find your car and door ding the shit out of it just so I can tell you, "Deal with it."
People who spend tens of thousands of dollars on an investment tend to want to keep it pristine. You sound like a mega dildo telling people who value their car to "Deal with it."
I'm curious, do you actually pay for your car? If you don't then I really don't expect you to understand where a lot of us come from who work hard to pay hundreds a month towards a car payment + hundreds more a month on upgrades/mods/etc.
If you do actually pay your own car then you must just be a slob with no standards. I feel bad for the person who buys your used vehicle in the future.

Bottom line: Sure, it may be inevitable that a ding will happen at some point, but if some of us park away from the crowd to keep door dings minimal then why the hell do you even care!? It's not your car, you're taking the extra 10 seconds to walk 10 more ft through a parking lot, and unless you're going to pay for every door ding I get by parking in the crowd, shut up. It's not your money or your car. Deal with that.

yeah the taking up two spots (thats not "double parking" is it?) is pretty ridiculous considering we drive entry level cars. the coolest thing about when i have my miata is that i can usually squeeze in anyways and i try to hang out as i watch the drivers try to get into their car

Yeah... you're getting way too emotional about this.

Seeking out someones car and intentionally damaging it and telling them to "deal with it" is completely different than getting a ding by someone on accident.

1. Not like I'm actually going to find him and do that. lol. Seriously not worth my time.
2. Dinging by accident is different from someone thinking, "Hey, this guy is parked away from the crowd...let's mess with his car."
3. He can tell us "deal with it" if our cars get messed with, but no one can tell him the same thing? Explain how that makes sense.
4. This whole thread is about having your car messed with, not accidental damages.
5. PoorPablo or whatever is basically saying if your car gets messed with because you parked away from the crowd then too bad and deal with it...it was going to get damaged eventually. I take it you agree with this?

I know I restated the same thing a few times with different wording. It was to make my point clearer for you.

People who seriously value their vehicles will always look for the best way to keep their car pristine...just like I avoid parking under trees where there is a ton of bird shit on the street. Sure, my car will get dirty eventually. Doesn't mean it's okay for you to throw a bag of shit on it, does it? No one really needs to explain why they decide not to park under a tree, or park away from the crowd, or whatever they want to do. It's their vehicle, their money, and their time. Besides double parking, there are few things that warrant having your car messed with or damaged. Saying "It will happen eventually, deal with it" to justify having your car messed with is a very juvenile response.

1. It was a hypothetical situation I was describing.
2. I know, that's what I said in my previous post.
3. Ad hominem.

4. Not necessarily.
5. I'm not sure why you're so fixated on the whole "deal with it" thing; It seems to be the main point to all your arguments...
I don't "agree" with it but there's nothing you can do to stop someone from parking next to you... so you're gonna have to deal with it.

Likely parking scenarios:
* park in first open spot. Likely to eventually get dings.
* park on end spot - at least 50% less likely to get dings. Can help your odds by parking further away from adjacent spot, but be careful of curbing your wheels or bumping your door into a wall.
* double park at back of lot away from everyone else - less likely to get dinged, more likely to be thought of as a dbag, more likely to get keyed.
* double park at first available opportunity - less likely to get dinged, will definitely be thought of as a dbag, much more likely to get keyed.

I'm sorry didn't read the whole thread but this should be an easy fix. heavy grade clay bar and buff out with 3M compound or wetsand/buff, you can buy the whole setup for under $300 and learn a lot. Don't let the b.s. in life turn into an onsession.

You seem to have still missed the topic of this thread again.
