Sooooo I just got a call from body shop and the estimate came out to be $8600 + - $100. Basically the whole rear end suspension wise has to be replaced. Axel, camber arms, bearings, strut bars, coils, breaks and so on and so on. The car should be ready by the 24th. I bet my insurance company will be happy to hear the news.

That's not too bad, considering an airbag went off. Mine's got a lot of bodywork damage in addition to possibly needing a new rear suspension as well... better a curb than a wall I guess T__T
Sounds like they got you that estimate pretty quickly, too! They haven't even started pulling mine apart yet -_-

I'm wondering if they are gonna possibly write yours off. If you take my estimate into the account and add your body work it might be well worth over 75% of the car value especially if the unibody was damaged from what I read. I don't really know if you are hoping that they are gonna write it off or you are hoping they are just gonna fix it but I hope that whatever the outcome is you will be happy with it considering the damage. Well the only reason I got my estimate that fast is because I decided to go with a body shop that my insurance company has already pre approved instead of my regular one that I usually go with. I knew that it would probably be the fastest way of getting the car back on the road since the body shop won't be arguing with insurance company. They just brought my car in there today and pulled it apart in a few hours and have me a call. Plus my insurance has a lifetime guarantee on the parts that they fix as long as I own the vehicle.
