New Member / How much would a setup like this cost (Australia)

Finally bothered to make an account here after 6 months of ownership..

So here's a photo I grabbed last night:

But now to the real point of this
- I have wanted to drop the car on new wheels and springs, but considering the wheels I want to get, I'm not sure if springs will get enough negative camber to get the wheels to tuck (will I need camber bolts / plates / lca's?), or if it will rub on stock suspension. Yes I know about the Wheel Directory (I have probably stalked around on there for an unimaginable number of hours) so don't just go tell me to look there.

This is the look I was aiming for (chopped my car in PS, also probably not that low):

The wheels I am looking at are 18x9.5 +38 to be wrapped around a 225 or 235 hopfully. Now the only problem as mentioned before is will it rub on stock strut / lowered springs? and how much camber will be required to get it to tuck, along with is it possible with "natural" camber?

And the last thing, how much would this cost me in AU (Mounting Tires, Balancing, Suspension, Alignment + extras on suspension bits)? I have no experience with any of this, and I'd hope it wouldn't be too much

I know it's alot to ask but thanks in advance c:

EDIT: I realise now that this should of been in suspension / wheels section

I'm no expert, however that narrow of a tire will definitely be stretched on wheels that wide, it's not my cup of tea but if you're into that look then more power to you. As far as exact cambers and offsets the best way to figure that out IMO is to lower the car first, take your measurements from edge of tire to fender using the stock wheels/tires and then go from there. That way you could get an idea of the offset you'll need or if you'll need to run spacers. Stance is cool and all but if you have a crazy amount of negative camber you'll just burn through tires with uneven wear. Idk about Australia but in the US, mounting and balancing is typically free if you buy the tires from the place, 50-100 US dollars if you bring your own. An alignment will run around 75 USD and it's best to get that done as soon as you lower the car. I hope this helps, I know the prices may vary from country to country.

18x9.5 +38 with 245/35/18 don't rub with proper coilover and camber setup. camber is minimal as well for front. rear natural camber is enough to fit with no issues

This is the exact set up I have. No rubbing at all. You'll need pillow ball mounts for adjustable camber in the front to avoid poke. I have neg 1.5 degrees.

I think you mean camber plates not pillow ball mounts. Thanks for a second confirmation though

That was exactly the post I was going to put up.

You could drop it on springs for about $1k less. I will not recommend knock off wheels. That's just me, I understand why people do it though. The Meisters are super sexy, just keep a lookout on forums for a nice set and maybe you'll be good.

You could always drop it now on the stock wheels/tires. Get them painted. That's what I did (cept I didn't paint them yet, if I even do). The drop significantly improved the look of my FRS. I'd go 25mm spacers front and back, though, with a slight fender roll in the back. Mine looks like it could be tucked a little more with a roll.

Those were taken right after installation. The front has settled very slightly, but it's much much nicer. I'm running on KW v3, SPL rear LCA's, RaceSeng CasCam's and rear shock tops (plug for you @Raceseng , well deserved). The coils are on softest setting and the ride is similar to stock. Just want to give you another option that'll improve looks, at a very affortable price.

EDIT: Pics

That actually was my original idea, but then I found out how bad Australia's modding laws really are :/
Spacers are illegal unless they are there from factory
