the close up "STI" wing is great, the rest just gotta work on composition, but they look properly exposed.
you could use a CP filter, the glare on your windshield/hood kills that photo for me. |

Very nice! Good exposure. I still struggle with that, while apparently my strength is composition. Wish we lived near each other so we could learn a bit more from each other in person!
Anyways, pretty much what Jive said. Color polarizer filter would help with the "glare" in the third shot. What it really comes down to is that you create a mirrored surface that reflects and causes your car to inadvertently blend in instead of stick out or even compliment the surroundings. I used to think it helped make the car look clean, but you can't even SEE the car, really, because all you see is what's being reflected on the car. I'd also probably move a little more down low and get more of the top of the house in the shot along with the car. The house itself seems interesting, so you have to imagine that if you were taking a picture of the house, then having the car there also is just a bonus. For your first shot, I like it a lot. Next time I'd move over to the left just a little bit to give your car some breathing room. But at that point you'd want to pull back just a little to maintain that offset and continue giving the car breathing room. I'm not sure how much space you had to work with, though. I know with my 35mm I find myself running out of space often. Your second shot is glorious! Super clean, and the standard orange peel in the paint warps the reflected image so that the car itself is still the main focus. The only thing I wish you'd do is share smaller file sizes. I barely have a 10mb/sec download at work and that's considered "fast" for up here. My home link is faster, but it still sucks to load all your gigantor pictures. Just a minor tiff. I'd rather you share large, nice pictures instead of struggling to make them smaller and getting frustrated or something. I doubt you would because you seem pretty cool, but one never knows where people draw the line in kindness. haha Thanks for sharing your pics! I love that you'd taken more and are trying to get good ones! You have a very sexy car that deserves good pictures. |

also, in the two full car pictures, the trees are almost growing out of it, think of this stuff when selecting angles and parking the car, don't want fences and trees and etc coming up from bend the car.
at this point i'm being picky...as it gets warmer hope to see this thing around! |

I decided I'd adjust the circular polarizer (CP) to show you an example of the affect it can have on your car.
Example 1 ![]() Example 2 ![]() The most noticeable difference is the glare on the windshield. It causes the car to absorb into the scenery. |

I thought Flickr couldn't upload RAW files? Otherwise I'd be all over that! It wouldn't let me upload mine, but maybe because they Nikon .NEF files? I shoot in both now since I don't mind deleting the pics I don't need in RAW.
It wasn't until I was grabbing all the BRZ desktop pics I could once they first came out that I realized glare isn't as clean as I thought it was. Photography is tough because you can't have too much darkness or too much light. That's why I ran out to take pics today because it's overcast. I had to do zero post processing of my pics to make the car standout and look balanced. Will you be in town between May 23rd to June 1st? That's Memorial Weekend (when I'll be in New York) and then at some point I plan on being in Jersey. I still don't know where I'll be staying, so I'll need to discuss that with my friends at some point. Think I'm gonna try to figure that out now. |

Mmm gotcha! Makes more sense. Yeah, I'll remind you when we're closer to that date. I gotta buy my ticket soon. They've been holding strong at $640.

it depends what i'm doing, if the location allows i'll park, turn it off and go walk around the car snapping stuff. but majority of the time i'm shooting in places where theres traffic so i have to be bale to hop in and GTFO the way. also, i like to keep the boomerangs on in pictures, idk if you do that, but i like how the look on. i use aperture as well, do yourself a favor and go to APPLE.com and download some presets for aperture. will help make edits super quick. if you ever want to shoot, just let me know i'm usually around.
