I love it when people say that na is useless and to just go FI like spending $1500 is just a few cents away from the 5k you'd need for a turbo setup.
35hp while it isnt a ton will be noticeable in a light car.

What overpipes have had clearance issues? Are these isolated cases or very widespread?
And do all installations of overpipes require lifting the engine or is it still relatively easy to install? |

Hi, does the overpipe from invidia have heat shielding? It looks like it doesn't have any coating on there. I am asking because they are giving it to me for free. And if it's not better than I wouldn't install it.

Just the OP won't net you much b/c then you're still dealing with the flow restrictions brought on by two full sized cats. Now, OP as part of a FP/OP package and then a tune? Yeah, you'll get benefits in the torque curve with a tune. Maybe not much HP gain, but it should help your tuner reduce the torque dip more than he'd be able to with a stock exhaust.
You'll see the most gains from an op/fp when paired with a more freely-flowing header, though. exhaust mods after the FP, however, will net you very little. Those are mostly for sound. But FP/OP and headers are where power will be unlocked when you go aftermarket and tuned. Skip intake. The stock intake flows VERY well, and you won't need to upgrade it until you get into much higher HP applications, which will either require an engine swap if you're staying NA, or you go FI (in which case, your FI kit will include an intake). A built FA20 built for power on e85 still won't have enough increased flow requirements to merit going with an aftermarket intake over the factory intake with drop-in panel filter.

The overpipe is the only part of my exhaust I haven't replaced lol.
Not convinced it will do much, Hell i'm not convinced anything other than the header will do that much. I have had the stock exhaust mated up to header/stock OP/catted front pipe, and it does not sound very good. Tinny/crappy sounding. Or I would have kept the exhaust this way to keep sound down. |

I didn't read the full thread..but read many "it will give you 3-5hp, with a tune".... hahaha, what BS! That doesn't really count or make sense does it?? Lol...I mean, the tune itself will give you a couple extra Hp with a stock car, regardless of a new Op or not, lol.
Only way to see if it truly adds Hp is to do an A&B/before&after dyno with NO tune. Getting really tired of all these comparison dynos of products AFTER a tune. It's like cheating and is moot. You can tune for days and days and years and years and spend thousands on dyno tuning, nonstop until you squeeze say 35hp from your dumb header for example ...but is the customer really going to do that and tune it 100s of times and also with the exact same person doing the tuning? N O NO tune dynos are the only way to keep it an even playing field with companies and parts. A stock tune is the perfect calibration/monitor unit to keep everything/everyone level and equal in regards to parts and comparisons. |

OP ain't worth it IMO. These things tend to matter more when one decides to go the FI route...or if you commit to a NA setup like TRD did..

Have the nameless, got it on sale early and will be getting OFT/OFH combo and Perrin cat back to complete the set. Not sure how much the OP will get you alone but FWIW it has WAY fewer crimps and bends than the factory piece, so it can only help.
The Nameless unit is a good 12 lbs lighter than stock though (as are most catbacks) so the weight savings alone made it worth it. Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk
