What the heck did you just make me read? I lost brain cells on that thread...1) managed to blow a fairly robust engine in ~14k miles due to lack of oil, 2) talk of having a 1 or 2JZ+tans swap to solve the no-zoom issue, 3) condenses weeks worth of communication with a dealer into 2 days...I can't, just so wrong on so many levels.

Who the heck does not check their oil once a month? Should be done at the same time as check the air in your tires (winter tires guys, who pays for have sensors in both sets? lol)

On a related note, got my AMSoil Signature 0W-20 in yesterday, just waiting for the Fumoto valve...should be here just in time for the 7500 mile change interval

It was hilarious for those defending him then changing teams when they realized. I am no master mechanic but I can do maintenance. Darwin always seems to weed out those who cant contribute...at least in this forum. Helmets, airbags, and condoms are saving the rest of them.

It wasn't so much reliance on his parents who had money (I had to do a bit of parental reliance while I got myself established after college... and still do for certain things that come up very fast that I don't have $$ on hand for... like flying back to attend my grandmother's burial), but that he was completely and utterly ignoring our suggestions and advice and simply restating over and over and over ad-nauseum ad-infinitum 1) that he was screwed, 2) it was all due to no oil () b/c the dealership said so (more if they did), and 3) can haz 2jz swap puhleeeeze?

Those 3 things were the real clue stick that this was an idiot, a troll, or both.

Haha i know right? Thought he was a troll but it seemed so real...
I understand everyone needs some help from their parents as do I but whole time he was like "its ok guys I got mommy and daddy" like those stereotypical spoiled blond chicks on tv shows lol
Id like to slap him n take away his poor car

The only time I had that kind of financial assistance from my folks was when they still held the title on my 05 Forester (which was turned over to me when I graduated, along with all responsibilities to pay for maintenance and insurance that went along with that) when I was in college (I got the Forester with < 2k miles on her too).

So, yeah, that was really ridiculous, though if they'd paid for an engine replacement I'd understand that. But pay the $$ for the 2jz swap? Might as well pay for a new car at markup in cash... it'd save money.

It was equally ludicrous when Bob basically told him to sell the car and then he asks Bob if he'd do the swap and how much it'd cost. How dense can you get?

Just swapped the rear diff oil to Motul Gear 300, dear god was that oem fluid nasty! The magnetic drain plug had a butt ton of gross crap on it too. Kinda crazy looking for three and half thousand on the odo, smelled worse than a horses behind too.

@Diode Dynamics I put in the cupholder pieces months ago, but just now took a pic. Thanks again for them and the WeatherTech inserts!

I also installed the JDM tS black door handles, tS shifter surround, flat black passenger door lever, flat black HU surround, flat black passenger side dash trim and flat black automatic TC buttons. I didn't have enough time to installed tS knee pad garnishes, AC vent surrounds and driver's side door lever.

@yospeed BRZ STI door sill was installed, but I didn't get a picture of that. You can see your heater control surround, though! Thank you so much!

The interior kinda drives me nuts, especially since I removed my HU trim, so there's gaps on either side, but at least the flat black JDM trim now sits flush on the dash. And I can't see the gaps at all when driving at night and during the day I'm paying attention to the road, so whatever.

The smell is due to the diff oil additives, not the contaminants.
