Nice upgrade. Not big on the looks of the Evora, but I bet it'd be a fun car to drive daily.

Too bad that you couldn't get over the lack of power, but glad you're now in a car that fills in all your criteria. Enjoy you're new car. Very nice

So many haters in here. I'd love to have an Evora. Beautiful looking car, and plenty of performance and power for a DD.

I think what most of the haters are trying to say is, "I'm jelly."

Congrats on the new car. Totally different. I have yet to see one on the road in my area, but see GTRs everywhere.

I imagine most sporty cars were out of the running due to you wanting back seats? I know that is the case for me. I look forward to hearing about your experience using it as a DD.

Lol.. Most people congratulated you on your purchase.. Considering you disliked your Twin and complained about the car in a forum for the twins to people who own them .. Then went on to brag about your new purchase and call everyone haters and talk down to them... And you act surprised by the reaction you received... Amazing..

1) you are correct, I could have bought a more expensive car ... and have done so in the past. I have owned many different Ferraris, Porsche, and even a lambo at one time.
2) Once you have owned those cars, you'll understand a couple of things
a) Very expensive to drive, maintain, and insure
b) Not very traffic friendly
c) No room for anything
d) Not very comfortable
All of which makes then not a practical daily driver
3) You will need a second car as a DD ... increasing auto cost even more
4) Most of the cars in that video did not meet my previously listed criteria and will never be driven daily ... too afraid to get them dirty or will leave them stranded and penniless
5) Most of those cars cost well over 6 figures ...
6) Who wants to drive another porsche ... done to death around here ... not at all exotic
7) Who wants to drive a mustang ... yuckkkk ... I would have rather rode my bike
8) I will give you the GTR ... and I even test drove one ... but they are just so ugly
9) Cars are not just HP and drag racing in a straight lines ... have the above test ... and add turns ... then see what happens.
10) This car will still smoke 9 out of 10 cars on the road today ... and can be modded if so desired ... not for me though

In the end I wanted a DD that could be reliable (think toyota), had room, could be driven in traffic, did not cost a arm to keep ... and was rare and exotic.

I challenge you to find a better car for less than 60k!

Hey man, you got what you want, no need to defend your choice! Just enjoy it!! People should respect that. Nice ride btw

Sure you can dump 10k into the car and make it faster (maybe even keep up with my new car) ... and you could just toss the cash into a fire as well ... same difference.
I can break traction in 4th gear in mine...

Also... a 12.9 sec car a fast car is not... especially at 60K... as much as I hate the mustang, it'll destroy that for about half the money... and a M3 will also destroy that... Even an X5M can humilate that thing...

As much as I like the Evora... it isn't fast

This reeks of bs.
1. I can.
2. Driver error.
3. The people asking those question are either retarded or non-car people so who cares.

He has owned several "status" cars. Also mentions what kind of cars are popular around his parts.

Believe it or not people with money, exclusivity and being unique is more important than cost.

My understanding is OP wants a reliable car that can be a unique status symbol, and he chose this lotus.

Love the Evora. Always wanted one, figured it'd be my attainable supercar some day. Scrapped that after looking into maintenance and clutch costs though. Personally I'll likely go C7 or whatever Toyota turns the FT1 into, but great choice regardless.

Yes, I know. So those point I quoted are still just bs as those definitely were not facts.

Grats on the car, i see a white one on my morning commute often.
I also switched from a BRZ to an Evora after under a year of Subaru ownership.

The last time I was at the track (Hallett), I lapped a BRZ twice in fifteen minutes. I also managed to get by an Ariel Atom, MP12-4C, several Shelby Mustangs, a Z06, and an Aventador. I'm no race car driver, but I'd say the Evora is plenty capable on the track.

And afterwards, I drove the Evora 200 miles home with the cruise control, while listening to sattelite radio. It's really a beautiful compromise of a livable vehicle with tremendous feel and handling.
