Very nice! Good choice

I've seen *one* in person in a beautiful bright red, and it was one of the most gorgeous cars I've ever seen.

you sold the frs cause it was too slow but bought one of the slowest high end sports cars you can get? your logic fails me. surely you could've spent 60k-70k elsewhere. this video proves nothing its just an example. but eh, not my money and as long as it makes you happy.

I don't think you get it. His 60k sports car totally smokes everyone's 20k sports cars, and that's the concern. He didn't buy his 60k sports car to have power and speed like the other 60k sports cars XD

Let me explain something to all you haters:

1) you are correct, I could have bought a more expensive car ... and have done so in the past. I have owned many different Ferraris, Porsche, and even a lambo at one time.
2) Once you have owned those cars, you'll understand a couple of things
a) Very expensive to drive, maintain, and insure
b) Not very traffic friendly
c) No room for anything
d) Not very comfortable
All of which makes then not a practical daily driver
3) You will need a second car as a DD ... increasing auto cost even more
4) Most of the cars in that video did not meet my previously listed criteria and will never be driven daily ... too afraid to get them dirty or will leave them stranded and penniless
5) Most of those cars cost well over 6 figures ...
6) Who wants to drive another porsche ... done to death around here ... not at all exotic
7) Who wants to drive a mustang ... yuckkkk ... I would have rather rode my bike
8) I will give you the GTR ... and I even test drove one ... but they are just so ugly
9) Cars are not just HP and drag racing in a straight lines ... have the above test ... and add turns ... then see what happens.
10) This car will still smoke 9 out of 10 cars on the road today ... and can be modded if so desired ... not for me though

In the end I wanted a DD that could be reliable (think toyota), had room, could be driven in traffic, did not cost a arm to keep ... and was rare and exotic.

I challenge you to find a better car for less than 60k!

Something is bothering me with this thread.
OP buys very driver-oriented, back to basics, purist cars... with a slush box.

It's like mixing organic-fair-trade-whatnot top dollar coffee with GM corn syrup. Why?

Ok I get it now. You were fed up with not having power in a reliable, fun, practical DD, so you decided to get an underpowered car that costs 2-3 times as much to keep your costs down because it makes it more reliable and practical for DD purposes.

OP did you know not know what you were getting when you bought the FR-S? Did you see the HP -were you expecting to have a faster car or did you buy it based on appearance? This is a pretty big jump in price & performance.

BTW for the money you'd think the GTR would be better looking.

I am guessing you are you are ok with a car that has so little torque that it can not break traction from a dead start on wet roads (granted my car was a auto), being bested by a Ford Fiesta on a track, and being asked if you like your Hyundai/Kia.

Sure you can dump 10k into the car and make it faster (maybe even keep up with my new car) ... and you could just toss the cash into a fire as well ... same difference.

Yes ... and agree

I did test drive the FR-S ... and really though I could live with it ... but in the end, just could not. i guess the styling sold me in the end.

The GTR is such great performance machine ... but the looks combined with all the all electronics (that could go wrong) and the maintenance expenses really got me thinking ...

For someone who wants so much out of the car, why did you buy another automatic?

This thread just reaks of look at what I got.
