First you need to understand that people want different things.
Secondly, a SC has no "lag" or odd transient response or boost thresholds, they produce instant linear power from idle that simply feels like a bigger engine. A turbo might have vastly more headroom, but not everyone wants 500+hp. I personally will be PERFECTLY happy with 250-275whp. Hell, I'm pretty happy at stock power because I enjoy driving the car, not doing freeway pulls. That being said, I do want a bump in power with track day reliability that will last me for many years. I've considered turbo, and have owned (and tracked) many turbo cars in the past, (WRX, two STI's and an Evo) but I love, love, LOVE the responsiveness of the NA engine in this chassis. I'd like to preserve that. |

I'm more concerned about the cost per HP then headroom. Just saying for the price of a supercharger and header is the same or more then a turbo kit with equal or less power, from what I've read around here you can get a Tiny turbo with instant boost thanks to the high compression with more headroom on stock exhaust.

i've had turbo cars in the past, and while i did enjoy them, i wanted instant power, and i wanted to know that if i ever decided to go try and drift (in a controlled enviroment) that i wouldn't have to worry about suddenly hitting boost and having the tail end go out on me.
besides, everyone around here has turbo, and it's played out. i wanted something different, something i could install myself in a day and was very easy to install. innovate took less than 4 hours from start to finish to install, and i was driving her that same afternoon.

they run 9000rpm v-8s or turbos, having a good power band with a Turbo car say 4-8krpm or 5-9krpm (Supra at ~600whp for example) with boost threshold lower than that 4k rpm means they are going to be in boost nearly the whole run. and won't get the big rush of torque except of takeoff. transient response might take a few milliseconds depending, but thats up to the driver to get a feel for and control.I will be getting a supercharger eventually, i like a nice linear power band thats going to keep this car's transient response time to a minimum. just a preference, and coming from a TC S2000, This car doesn't need world beating power just enough for the chassis to really shine, 300whp is lots for my goals and to be able to surprise quite a few solid cars. |

I would argue if your goal was the most power simply buying an frs/brz is a flawed first step.
There are much better cars on paper than an frs/brz... yet here we are

I went innovate supercharger because I love the instant power. Peddle to floor anywhere = Boost. The low end torque is also amazing.
