Honestly why do people get a SC

I don't understand. The only reason I could think of would be that they don't want an aftermarket exhaust. Every turbo kit is a better option. If you factor in the cost of a header to a SC kit, it's equal or more expensive then turbo kit options with less power. SC kit with no header and exhaust might yield the same power as small turbo kit such as the AVO, but once you start adding a header and exhaust, the gains scale wayyyyyy less with the SC kit then with a turbo.

Not a troll. Serious inquiry. The numbers don't add up. And I'm just trying to stir up the boards tonight.

Why did you get this car? You wanted it. There's your answer to why people get SC kits. Spend your money the way you want.

Because linear power delivery and low end torque in the case of the Innovate kit. If you want to drag race and brag about big numbers, have fun with a turbo. Hope your motor lasts.

Ignorant thread is ignorant. Go do due diligence and then come back with some insightful posts. This is just... a waste.

In that case I agree with you aside from the inflammatory nature and intent of your original post.

I have observed some very nice results from a friend's Vortech kit; however, while he got better peak power I have the benefit of lower boost, better MPG, earlier and higher torque, and the BOV noise is more fun in my car.

I can't speak to intercooled twin-screw setups yet as I haven't see how that pans out. Those tend to have a much better torque curve than the turbine SC.

OK maybe you guys are right. Carb legal is a good argument. Touche. But for me, it doesn't make sense.

Why do people drag race when road racing is so much more fun? Why does Porsche opt for an NA engine in their GT3? Why are the best driver's cars equipped with high revving/low torque engines? So many question

The car with the biggest numbers on paper is never the "best" car.

For my Solara, you could get a TRD SC installed by the dealer and it did not void your warranty...
