This is the kind of thing I used to do to Mustang GT500's in my stock S13. with 3" catback. naturally they pass me when the road straightens ..but I proved my point. and so did he. Why do you own a fast car when you "slow down" just when it gets interesting. Any grandma can floor a gas pedal. I like being the underdog ..and I like being safe. I do not abuse traffic. But if you thrust your power at me ..I WILL ...follow you to the next braking zone ..and I will "show you" what you need to work on. Even if you power away at track out ..you know you are slow ...and your car is crying. I dispise people in "fast cars" who cannot control them under dynamic conditions. I feel compelled to reach them by mid corner and so far I find most people cant out run me except on straights. And this was well before I got my BURZ. Its sad when an S13 on All seasons can make up the gap in a decreasing radus 40mph corner over a gt500 that passed me previously at 110+. I was still limited to 115 and all I did was wait for my braking zone ... and I Was in his bumper well before track out ..and of course ..he "throttled away" on the downhill straight to merge which is a 1/4 mile long. IMO if you arent scrubbing tire ..you aren't entering fast enough ..yes I know this isnt good for a "circuit" but for a corner or two ..its perfectly fine ... I was screaming tires and oscillating between over/understeer. He was clearly well below the limit of his FAT SUMMER TIRES Fuck people like that. If you are going to be "fast" be fast ..dont ***** out when the road gets tough ... I hate people who rely on their cars and make an ass of themselves. I refuse to make a problem for other people ..but if you challenge me with your "fast car" ill fucking pace you ...and just wait until you have to brake. Then we will see who "is fast" and who has a "fast car" Last edited by Photonic; 02-22-2014 at 08:17 PM. |

^ shit just got real.
I totally agree with above poster though, I don't abuse traffic, nor am I reckless, but if some tosser wants to try impress me with his straight pace, i'll eat him in the corners. |

I am tired of people who think of the Twin as the only vehicle that can turn well in the corner...... Be real ! Corners taking in daily life is an EXCUSE!!!! A good car is a car that can Corner well, and accelerate out of it while having a milk and a cookie doing it. Unless, you cant afford them, then it comes the time where they have to excuse you. Just being honest with you, i will only agree when people say the twin can easily drift controllably without much effort, and newb can do it (learn on ). Because they were enginneered purely for that. |

I had an old guy in a 5.0 stang tryin to race me the other day lol. It was a little wet outside and i took off on him before he regained traction. I guess its nice to be a little underpowered guys. Dont let hp fool you. Even though we only have 200 ponies we can still launch on a guy wuo cant launch when the race gods permit us lol

Just heard a story from a friend. He was on his way home either yesterday or the day before and pulled up to a light in his stock 350z. Saw twins waiting for the light to turn green. The one in the back was silver (BRZ). One in the front was a raven (FRS) with race numbers on the side, body kit and a wing. I guess he reved at both and supposedly the Twin in front attempted to race before getting smacked. My boy makes fun of me all the time talking about how much Gerbil HP we got but he still has a habit of racing any FRS/BRZ he sees that wants to rev back knowing that he will win. Still waiting for a boosted twin to smack the hell out of him.

I try to be respectful of everyone on the road ,and I dont fly by people like an asshole, even if I could. But when I see "behavior" like this ..it really makes me want to see if they are all show or not. I dont think I meant to imply ...the ft86 was the "only car that can turn well" One thing you need to know about me is..I dont like cars. I like "drivers" and I like people who enjoy driving and want to learn to drive "well" my problem with the Mustang was its driver ..and the manner in which he was using it. Fun for me is a track day, and a bunch of intelligent, responsible adults discussing how to "drive" better. So when I see a perfectly good car, like the GT500 abused on the street ..and then I see by his lack of balls to actually brake the car ..he most likely has never even tracked it ..i feel sad. The car deserves a better driver and not someone with an ego deficit to fill |

Right. I consider myself a "fast person". Fast people are always fast regardless of car they drive. you need a LOT of car ..to make up for a bad driver. This has nothing to do with "what the FT86 was designed for. And I disagree that it was designed "Soley for drifting"
Anyone who has drifting and wheel to wheel experience knows a good drift car, is a good race car. There was a time when drift cars used to be "compromised" With lower grip but it was actually a good 10 years ago that people started to figure out that a racing setup was more appropriate. The FT86 is highly neutral ..it is not a "drift machine" compromised for sliding. What makes it great is it makes PERFECT use of its tires , allowing the driver to demand under, or oversteer ..via his driving style and minute adjustments to his inputs. it is NOT compromised to oversteer, nor is it "compromised" to understeer. The balance of slip on each end of the car can be adjusted simply by the way the driver wishes to drive the car. The FT86 is a contender for grip as much as drift. Drifting is a driving style, not a setup. The CHASSIS ..and thats all I care about ..not the stock configuration, is a god send. Throw grippy tires on it ... and adjust the suspension to rematch stock rates and you still have a fantastic corner carver here is a good article.
