Sorry to hear the spyders didn't have good quality. I will post the diode kit once I received them (still waiting for them to ship)

the stuff over the front lens is just shrink wrap to protect the lens during shipping.. can't explain what the rest of the goo is though..

Thanks for posting up those pics - have you tried hooking them up at all to see what the light output is like? I'm curious if the yellow ones actually produce a significantly yellow light or if it's just a cosmetic touch for the lens color.
