I'm going to fashion a chassis out of 100% zip ties one day.

Then you'll all be sorry...

@Anthony
I'm asking this question here because you are the most likely person to have the answer, which would have been found while stripping out your dash.
Some of the members have griped about the circular vent to the left of the gauge cluster blowing hot air even when the temps are set low.
Did you notice anything that might indicate why? Better yet, do you think it could be corrected?

I didn't. There's nothing left to look at anymore, unfortunately. Maybe if I had been looking for that at the time I could've helped, but it's too late now. It probably has something to do with the inner workings of the HVAC system. Because the whole thing sits behind the head unit and A/C control panel. From there it's just plastic channels to each vent. But the air is routed to each channel from that point. So... and this is just me speculating... the unwanted hot air is probably getting in there and flowing all the way out of the vent.

Hey Anyhony, in your plethora of weightlessness knowledge, do you have any idea what are the lightest rims that fit our car? I've seen the wheels and tires thread, but weights are seldom noted.
I've always been a fan of Rays/Volk, but it's been over 10 years since I stopped tuning cars and following all the manufacturers, having started tuning imports in the late 80s. I feel a bit old and out of it. :p

Enkei RPF1's are the most bang for the buck, for sure. Unless there's something I don't know about. There are a handful of wheels that are actually lighter, but they start getting crazy expensive. The Enkeis are high quality (as far as I know) and affordable. Lighter than TE37's and much cheaper. I'll probably "upgrade" to some eventually.

Enkeis used to be the shiz back in the day. Adam Saruwatari used to rock em on his RX7.

Any plans for a driveshaft mod? All this weight savings, I'd think that would be on the list too. Though I'm pretty lazy, so I may have just missed it.

DriveShaft Shop carbon fiber. I haven't looked at driveshafts in a while though. There may be a lighter one out since I last looked.

I haven't looked at them much either, but I'm always changing my mind on which mods to do and this is just the latest idea. I didn't know there was even an auto option until I found them on FT86Speedfactory. If their numbers are right though, the aluminum is only a pound heavier than the carbon fiber. I don't know if that pound is worth almost $500.

Yeah, to most people it wouldn't be. I already have the lightest pulleys, the lightest flywheel, and will eventually have some extremely light wheels. That pound will be a lot more significant in my particular setup.

New wheels? Selling the old ones?

Helllllll naw. I love my TE37's. But there are lighter wheels to be had. I could probably shed 8 pounds of unsprung rotating weight with several other wheels. I'll probably end up getting RPF1's like everyone else on the planet, but if I can find some even lighter ones without breaking the bank, that's what I'll do.

I too love your TE37's.

As for light wheels that don't cost a ton, I've been looking at Kosei K4Rs (as somebody just before me mentions). They're inexpensive (relatively) and light!
