I was going to wait for a test drive but I feel that these babies are going to be sold before I can even think about one. I'm calling my local dealer tomorrow,hopefully I'll get a refundable deposit in case I decide not to get it. I guess there is only one other person in NJ pre-ordering???

Comments: Went into the dealer 2/29/12 to preorder and confirmed I was in the system on 3/5/12 (not really sure why it took them so long to get in). 1st spot at this dealer. $500 deposit, with price $800 over invoice subject to customer test drive and concurrence. Unfortunately there are doc fees ~$300 i believe.

Those of you who ordered a limited, does the pricing difference matter to you between it and the premium? What happens if it more than the expected $2k?

Did they say if they were taking any more preorders? Monrovia is just around the corner for me, and initially I thought of going to Irvine because I thought that I'd be paying a lower sales tax. But apparently, it's the county that you reside that tells you how much you pay, right?

I talked to the sales guy named David Favor, he didn't seem like he know much about the BR-Z at all. I asked if there were anyone else that pre-order before me, he said there are about 3-4 ppl ahead of me (he didnt sound very confident) but can still take more pre-orders.

As for the sales tax, I believe its based off of residence. Orange County California has a sales tax of 7.75% and Los Angeles County has a sales tax of 8.25%. An Orange County resident will pay the 7.75% sales tax even when they purchase a car in Los Angeles County.
