The Hankook Ventus V12's are nice and in that price range. I have them and have had no issues. Got them from tirerack.

Those numbers are the width of the tire. I also have Hankook Ventus v12 and they are a good value tire.

It's the width of the tire in millimeters. So the 245 is 10mm wider than the 235

In your opinion. Which tire size will work better if I am dropping my car 1-1.5 inches? Will the 245 be too wide?

I haven't dropped my car yet but if you go visit a tire shop and start a conversation with them they will certainly be a resource for you. Also, they like to match online prices so make sure you get them to do that for you.

245 vs 235

the 245's will leave a fender gap of aprox. 40 mm
the 235's approximately 44mm. If you are planning on lowering your car 1 inch both will fit easily.

I would choose the 235's as I like a little stretch, will easily accommodate the 1.5 inch drop should you desire and will be cheaper on the pocketbook.
