Same experience here with a low mileage one I test drove. It certainly was not enough of a step up from my 1st gen Tiburon to consider (I did try a Miata as well but found it a little too phreaky on the busy freeways around here).

I'm just being fair like you.
Where did you get those numbers?
the stang starts at 22k and the GT at 25.5k
If the FRS is more than 22k it would be a really dumb idea to not just buy the stang. It already has tons of available mods, its really easy to find a tuner, and its really really fast!

Those numbers you and other people on this site is putting up is discounted rates and not MSRP. If you go to the Ford site and fully load a 5.0 it will never say 25.5k loaded or base. Base 5.0 is 30k with destination charge. Then I added these features for my price.

Sport Pkg/with Brembo's= 3k
Premium Pkg=3.5k
HIDS=$600
Sunroof=$2k
Navigation=$2k

These are all the same features that come in a 3.8 Track model GC. And the V6 Stang with those features except for Brembo's was close to 35k.

Fully loaded is always full of rip offs, hahaha. $4,000 for a hole in the roof and a screen to tell me where to drive; hold onto your ankles boys and girls. That GT can get really mean now a days.

There are no cars on the market now that can offer me what the BRZ does. And I'm pretty sure there aren't going to be any sudden surprises with the BRZ, so I don't see a need to compromise on a different car if only a little patience will get me a BRZ.

u sho bout tht ???

i'm worried subaru will price the brz too high :[

well, i got 2 pre-orders from 2 dealerships for the brz and 1 pre-order for the fr-s thru a corporate personnel i know, so if the brz ends up being too expensive, i will dump the brz and just get the fr-s...

dude you are in the US you shouldnt be complaining about Subaru pricing anything to high

in Canada Subarus are usually around a 6K mark up

Would you care to elaborate it more? Was that because of the maintenance and parts after warranty getting way more expensive than it should be? Thanks.
