e85

Any long term e85 issues yet? My last experience with e85 was not good. Going to be running fbms fuel pump and injectors and I just found a source for e85. Also who's making 400whp on 550cc injectors with e85? What's your duty cycle at?

I'm running the FBM turbo kit with 550cc injectors and fuel pump and haven't had any issues on E85 since October. Just got the tune from Delicious and I made 392 WHP ....clutch begna to slip so I'm gonna get an aftermarket clutch to pull more power.

Hope this aids in your belief in E85.

I don't think this car has been out long enough to see any ill effects of E85 as of yet. The delaminating, sounds rough. How long were you running E85 for? Did you let any air get to the E85?

it was a vented tank in an older bike that saw mostly dyno pulls. Before anyone really knew alot about E85. Im sure it sucked in alot of moisture and we didnt have an ethanol tester at the time either. The inside of the tank ended up in the fuel filter. I dont remember how long it was in the tank it wasnt my bike thankfully.

There has been reports of the fiber filter membrane in the actual fuel pump bowl deteriorating and breaking down into fibers that could potentially get caught up in the injectors. Not the filter sock but the other fibrous filter used in the housing. Robispec was one of the first I remember reporting this when he started experimenting with E85 last summer. I saw the breakdown of the filter first hand on his application but coincidentally I haven't really seen anyone else make light of it.........

Only one report, not reports. @robispec's report of that was the only one reported here, and he'll be the first to admit that car has lead anything but an easy life.

haha tear apart one use of a plural word even though I specifically said he was coincidently the only person to have made light of it in my response. Regardless it has happened and ethanol is known to do stuff like that so its noteworthy to keep an eye on it should it become the plural version of "report". Personally I wouldn't worry about it.
