@ultra can you shoot me a pm how much it cost you to dyno and tune, I'm looking to get this done the beginning of the year. My mod list won't be as extensive, but I would like to smooth out my torque dip. Thanks

I'd venture to guess that any reasons for a CAI not helping are that there is not a properly designed CAI just yet.
Has anyone tried larger piping? Stepped piping designs? Tapering from 3.5" to 3" ? or 3" to 2.75? velocity stacks? length tuning? Seriously there's a HUGE amount of work to be done to see what truly works when you're talking about a cai. one thing about a proper cai is it will most likely affect throttle response (negatively) but when it picks up power it usually offsets those issues anyways. Also nice gains OP, glad you had a baseline, so you picked up a solid 22 whp, which is excellent and probably feels like a new car. The power you're making now is similar to a stock AP1 s2000, but earlier in the rpm band

The new 3" Perrin comes close. The problem is the opening in the bulkhead makes it very difficult to get a 3" pipe past. The opening itself is something like 2.5" by 5", so unless you do an oval pipe it will pinch down. But better to pinch down a 3" pipe (as the Perrin unit does) rather than use an overall smaller pipe (i.e. 2.75 or 2.5"). This way the pinch point approximates the total open area that the 3" section with the MAF body has.

Sounds nice, Only recently did we discover on civic si's that a 3.5" intake gained power over a 3" intake pretty much everywhere on the high cam while losing minimal (2-4 ft/lbs) of torque on the low cam. Once you put in camshafts though you didn't lose torque on the low cam either just picked up everywhere!
