Amp wiring help + 3d printed tablet mount

I'm replacing my head unit with a tablet and i'll be using an amp (Alpine KT-445U) in place of another head unit. One thing i'm not sure of at the moment is how this is going to work due to the already existing factory amp for the door speakers. I've got the Alpine amp wired up ready to be plugged into the factory harness but i'm concerned i'll effectively be doubling the power to the door speakers now that i'll have 2 amps powering them? Not sure if i should be somehow disconnecting/bypassing the factory amp?

Part II: Wasn't real happy with any of the mounting solutions i found so i custom modeled a mount that i 3d printed:

Want to make me up a mount like that? I'll pay whatever your asking price is.

Just getting some quotes from Shapeways as they'll have access to better printers.

The price appears to be around $34 for the front half of the piece:

https://www.shapeways.com/model/1719...html?li=aeTabs

The back support came in a ~$30 which seems really high. Could be made quite a bit cheaper than that. I've never ordered from Shapeways so i'm not sure exactly how the surface would turn out. I'd imagine it would need a bit of massaging (sanding, paint, primer) to be acceptable.

from what i understand (which isn't much yet because i really need to just tear my car apart), the oem amp uses high-level inputs for the signal, so the amp that you're going to use doesn't really matter, as it's only boosting the signal far enough to allow the factory amp to pick up and provide an adequate sound level.

there isn't any multiplication in the system like what you're thinking

as far as weather it's worthwhile to replace the factory amp, that's completely up to you-- there's nothing about your current planned setup that seems like it should require a full audio upgrade...

Can't help with your amp problems, but I'd buy a mount too!
