Untuned is useless. You're not going to run these tuneless, b/c then you're just pouring money away on an expensive header without tuning to let the engine take advantage of all that available power.

Not to mention your afrs are going to be thrown off without a tune. Same reason you don't put on an aftermarket downpipe on a WRX or STI without getting an OTS or protune.

I really want to see an untuned dyno result.
This should have been thfreaking very first dyno they ran after bolting the thing on so its not like I(we) would be asking for something they have to go back and do again.
Ryan did state they would provide one and now months later we get 1 dyno graph and absolutely no responses from them.
I think there are two reasons for this. First everyone buying these has ridiculous expectations for the power gains.....after all they are just headers. Second I think due to the hype they felt as though they had to live up to it especially at a price point of $1500+.

You don't buy these for the untuned gains. That's stupid. You buy these or JDL's as part of an exhaust system for eeking out the engine's potential in an NA or SC setup. That means you buy these for the potential they open up for tuning.

If you want a bolt-on header that is fine to run untuned for some untuned gains, there's the FT86 catted header.

Hmmm... Did I miss a dyno post? Or is this more just frustration with only showing an unturned graph in general (yet to be shown)?

Oh, thank you sir. I went back to the page right before that and then started wondering if it was in another thread and stopped looking. I get the frustration now I guess. Not much info in there. Is that a tune+header versus totally unturned BRZ? Or is that just header with no tune?

EDIT - Nevermind, I went back and saw this is with a tune - does anybody know what fuel? Not bad considering it's just tune+header and no other parts. I agree with earlier post that the expectations for this header have become completely unrealistic. After researching other options I've purchased another header. But I am still watching this thread as I am hoping for great results for the folks that have been patiently waiting.

EDIT2 - Nevermind on fuel question, found that too. They used 92 octane for that tune in case anybody else reading was wondering.

The hype isn't all hyped up by the customers..... They themselves added to it.

Looks nice and the parts are well made I just don't understand the problems they seem to have.

True, I ain't arguing that. But as I researched all these headers, at the end of the day there wasn't going to be anything they could do that other vendors haven't already looked at. It's going to be a very nice header, but I don't think it's reasonable for people to expect 10-20 whp over other headers on an NA 4 cylinder car. We were always talking about maybe 5whp over other quality headers already in the market. That's why I ended up going with another option. I still think this looks like a beautiful header and will be top notch quality and one of the best headers you can buy for this car. I wish I could buy one... But sadly I'm on a budget.

I wonder if the gains would be more pronounced over other headers if you throw a blower into the equation.

Really it sucks because you never really know even when you throw in your OP+FP+catback. I know that stuff is all not going to net huge gains for each individual piece, but a complete after header exhaust does definitely make a difference.

Super chargers are another whole different territory that adds to the "what-if" speculation. I'm not really concerned on what header makes the most with a SC though because I plan to stay NA. But it's hard to make an informed decision about what's best for your exact setup. Even with dynos provided, it takes a TON of research to make an informed decision.

Agreed. That's why I'm waiting on header dynos to make a decision on what high quality made-to-order headers to get.

Is there a final price?

And does anyone know if this will clear with any of the supercharger kits? Specifically, Jackson Racing

One dip gone, a new one created!

In all seriousness, it would be interesting to see how the powerband changes (improves) with a full 2.5" headerback
