I have a celtic knot band from Pat Fish. The knot work is continuous all the way around. It's about 95% done in this pic, just a bit of shading is missing. Each figure 8 is made of two dogs enter-twined. There are 3 of them linked together all the way around.

Certainly true. Artists should be using gloves, new needles, and everything they touch should be covered in disposable plastic. Many pictures I've seen show that the the tattoo machine is not covered in plastic, but my artist always covers hers. She also uses disposable tubes instead of autoclaving used ones like many artists do. There is concern with autoclaving that it doesn't de-activate prions which cause certain diseases like Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, Fatal Familial Insomnia, and Kuru.

Here's what the CDC has to say on prions:

Prions are really cool, in a scary kind of way. Not even really an organism, just a protein chain.

Heres one of mine, will post the others later. The tattoo itself comes from buddhism (buddhist), his name is komokuten guardian of the west, one of buddha's four noble generals.

One of my favorite wall scrolls of kyoto japan

For my two best friend who past away. I had enough artistic skills to draw that and had my tattoo artist trace over it. He did the lettering tho. Its located on my right shoulder blade if it was hard to tell.

Combining this tattoo, the story behind it and your user name-- it makes for something quite interesting.

actually I REALLY don't think that tattoos hurt.... the only spot that bothered me was my ditch (the inside of your elbow, elbow pit? lol).... other than that it was fine :P
Really? The ditch was fine for me. Honestly the worst pain I've ever felt in my life was on my forearm piece. We did the color on my octopus, and I went back in a week later to get the water and pocket watch colored. The artist decided that the octopus wasn't bright enough so he added more color to a 1 week old partially healed tattoo... 5 different colors, most of them overlapping. By the time he got to the white highlights, I was in the worst pain of my life. I've had teeth knocked out with a broom stick, I lost a golf ball-sized chunk of flesh from my elbow and fractured my hip in a car accident, surgery on my toe, broken wrist, arm, etc... Basically what I'm saying is I'm no stranger to pain and the last 10 minutes of my octopus piece was BRUTAL. The one thing that I'd compare it to in terms of pain was when the nurses had to scrub the dirt and gravel out of my avulsion on my elbow.

My shin hurt a little as well, but the insides of both biceps weren't bad for me at all. That's the funny thing about tattoos... What hurts you might not hurt the next guy/girl.

Here's my octopus on my left arm. I'll get pics of my other stuff tonight maybe. You can see the bottom of my heart that's on the inside of my left arm too.

Its funny you should mention my user name cuz its actually my friend, marco's user name that I end up using after he passed away. And for the location of the tattoo, I use to play basket ball with him all the time and every time he ran plays by me he had his left hand on my right shoulder. My friend sam was dating marco for almost 3 years before they passed away cuz the driver that hit them was under the influence and was speeding 90+ mph in a bump country road when he lost control and went left of center. They were 3 mins away from sam's family reunion in a near by park.
