Now that you mentioned it, I really only hear it when the traction light is flashing. It sounds like a metal to metal contact noise though... but I don't know a differential should sound due to being on 3 wheels so I can't say for sure. My car is not slammed by any means, lowered to reasonable height. Ill try to get somebody to check when I'm pulling in. If it is the differential, is there anything I should be worried about?

I back into my driveway over my "curb".

I cant have one of those ramps because my house is already the "choke" for the neighbourhood runoff and my gutters already flood and turn the street into a skating rink as it is.

It's probably the traction control sound from 3 wheeling. It happens to me. It's not exactly a grinding noise, but like a rubbing/grinding/creaking noise. It's kind of annoying cus it cuts off power when I try to enter my local grocery store. Maybe try turning off the traction control and see if it still happens? I've yet to try it.

Do I see TWO 914's?? They're getting harder and harder to find up here in decent shape, but one day I'll have one as a project/track beast.

My bet is you are hearing the ice mode kick in and the rear wheel that is being braked by the system sounds like scraping. Happened to me the other day when i forgot to turn TC off.

EDIT:

use ALL of the drive way, and its okay to go forward, back up, adjust angle, then go up more.

i'm pretty low, not like VIC or some of the other guys, but i have ZERO issues...well sort of.

just slow, and its a good idea to have a lip, you will feel/hear it touch down before ANY possible damage can occur.

if you scrape an oil pan in a subaru, you're doing something seriously wrong.

@ScionFR-S Could be your skidplate that you're scraping. Doubt it's the oil pan

Yes. The one in the garage is for vintage racing. The one in the driveway is a parts car.

So that picture has THREE 2.0Liter 4-cylinder boxer engines.
