Baking Clear Bra Protected Headlights?
Hey guys,
I'm about to bake my headlights to open them up. They have Xpel Ultimate clear bra film on them now. Has anyone baked their headlights with clear bra on them? I'm thinking of removing the film first as a precaution but would rather leave it on if it can handle the heat. Anyone know the heat tolerance / melting point of clear bras? Thanks!

Remove them. They're not made for that extreme kind of heat in the oven. It will distort and you going to have to remove them afterwards in any case.

I've baked multiple sets of headlights apart with Xpel on them, and it hasn't really been an issue, but again if you're concerned about it, just replace the film.

You shouldn't be heating the headlights up to 400F in the first place. 250F should do it.

The one time I tried higher than 250 was 300 for 5 minutes. The bottom of the headlight melted. |

I was feeling experimental and ended up keeping the film on it while I baked it at lower heat. 185 degrees for about 15 minutes (checking occasional for meltage). Turned out fine. Lil more elbow grease to pop the lights open but the adhesive does get soft enough.
