I paid $65 at Boston Motorsports when they were a vendor here. I don't know if they have that deal anymore, I bought it nearly a year ago after all. I think the "retail price" was about 80 when I got mine though.

While stationed in Texas, I was required to have one...it was an eyesore and therefore ended up suction cuped to the passenger side windshield near the base. (still illegal) That was way better...

Been pulled over twice for speeding and neither cop mentioned my front plate not being displayed.
Although I don't plan on putting on a front plate, I do get worried whenever I'm driving next to a cop because I know they can easily pull me over for it.
My neighbor wasn't so lucky. 1st month of owning his FR-S and he got a ticket for no front plates.

Actually, getting a ticket for the same violation over and over again can get you in even more trouble. And sometimes not even with the law. More like with the "house law" (spouse).

I know of a former Oregon Ferrari owner who got one ticket too many and the wife said "enough is enough, that is affecting my spending! ". Eventually got a reckless driving ticket for going over 100mph and had to sell it.

Dealer had already installed the bracket (at least they installed it on the grille) so I have two on my FR-S. My other two sports cars have no front plate and I've had no problems in the 6 years that I've owned them. Of course I'm old, bald and don't act like an asshole either.

Many of the LEOs in my area have sports cars with no front plate as well. I think they know what it's like and understand.

Around Chicago, it's unlikely you'll get pulled over simply for that. However if you're speeding and act like a **** to the cop, they'll give everything a once over and see how high they can rack up the tab.

That said, I have not had a front license plate on any car since I was 17, back in 1998. Never once got a ticket, when mentioned on my FRS by an officer in passing (not pulled over), I just said, look at the front... Would YOU cover that up? He chuckled and said "probably not, man".

I do not run a front plate, but my car is registered Ohio (requires front plate) and I live in Kentucky (does not require one) so I doubt it will ever be a problem.

never put it on...I'm in CT, same rules apply. If I get pulled over, I just pull the plate out of my glove box and say I am waiting for the bracket to get delivered.

It is ridiculous for the front plate to be on a car.....it is like you carry a tag on your mouth. Though, if it is the law, I encourage you not to break it

And why another Thread about breaking the law ? It is funny how people pledge not guilty in front of a Judge or a detective, but then say it all on a forum.

People need to wake up

IMO, not worth the hassle of getting pulled over. Also, most police are relatively reasonable, but I've seen them do some pretty unreasonable things in traffic stops. The mere fact that you only committed a minor violation doesn't mean they won't try to charge you with something else...
