wrx's and sti's hold their value pretty well. i was offered $20k for my sti in stock form with 60k on it two years ago when i was thinking about selling. i paid just north of $32k for it new so that's just above 60% resale...

i don't think the twins will do as well but bet they will hold competitive numbers over the next three to four years.

Their generic cars like Imprezas, Foresters, and Outbacks hold their value incredibly well too.

That's why in many cases it can be a smarter buy to get a brand new Subaru over a used one since you can get a warranty, the privilege of being the first owner, and possibly a better interest rate...all for marginally more money than the used counterpart.

I'm just saying that they've already dropped by about 20% in the first year, which is pretty average first-year depreciation for a car. They might be slightly above average, but not much.

+ the fact that all the 2013MY BRZs were sold for essentially a large markup, if you look at overall sales.

I wonder if this article would also be applicable to the S2000, since high demand + low supply resulted in most Honda dealers charging a $5-10k markup.

The dealer here in NH thinks it's not worth much. My '13 Premium BRZ with 29k miles was only given a $16k trade in value.

Hey at least you got a 5-digit number. I was offered $500 for a p clean MkIV GTI by a Colorado Subaru dealer when inquiring about a BRZ, or a little under 10% of the value of an average condition car... lol.
