FRS fog light HID/LED

Is it possible to swap out the halogen fog light bulbs for HID or LED bulbs?

Anyone have any guides?

If you're going to do it, find some projectors. Either HID or LED will work, but this will focus your light so that you can actually use it instead of getting lots of uncontrolled/undirected light everywhere that just blinds other drivers. Basically, if you're going to do it, make sure it's working for you. Here's a link to some LED projectors that The Retrofit Source will soon be carrying:

I'll be installing some HID projectors down there before too long and I'll post a link once I do.

I have hids in my fogs. Pain in the ass to find another location for the ballast. Does a great job on lighting up the ground tho.

We offer LED bulbs for the FR-S foglights (simple plug and play unit). If you want significantly more light, then an HID kit is the way to go. Our HID kits are also plug and play for the FR-S foglights.

Like Chen mentioned, you just have to find a place to mount the ballast, either with adhesive mounting tape or zip ties. Both the HID and LED installation is more or less the same.

The foglight bulbs can be accessed by removing a few plastic clips, which take less than a minute.

We have several options for LED foglights and HID foglights. Checkout our online store for more details. If you need any help, you may also contact us via private message or email.

Fog lights are designed to scatter light and the stock ones don't use a shielded bulb.

HID in them is going to glare other people badly (frankly it's irresponsible) plus it's not going to work too well as a "fog" light as it will be too bright at that point.

Plus you shouldn't have fogs on unless it's foggy for the glare reasons anyway

If you want looks, LED as they're lower output will work more as a DRL safety light than a usable light.
