I've been meaning to post that it seems like my crickets have died recently or they are hibernating.

I haven't changed anything about my gas (Shell 91) or driving habits.

So I'm blaming it on the lack of rain in Ca. The grass dried up and the crickets died. I hope they've gone extinct.

Just got my fuel pump replace at Toyota autonation in cerritos. Chirping has gone away and the tech was cool about it and knew what was wrong and replaced the parts, however the lady who checks in the car don't know shit. She said it was normal and since mine is a 2013 it has the upgraded fuel pump lol my ass

I tried to get them to replace mine LAST SUMMER and they wouldn't do it because they "couldn't hear it." It was as loud as ever. Who was your tech?

His name was Roberto fraire, he was cool about it and knew the problem right away and replaced it for me. Took about 3hrs to finish

I would not run all the time on E85 if I were you.

That's cause the engine isn't tuned for e85. With a tune it's fine

I still have crickets, contrary to what I may have said in an earlier post, and I've been e85 almost +3000 miles now. The first couple tanks I was cricket free, but eventually it came back. It's not all the time though or nearly was much as when I use 93, but definitely still happens. Sort of comes and goes. I am going to try efree and see how that works out.

Very interesting. You are the first I've heard of who is running e85 and is still hearing crickets.

I'm curious, which pump revision do you have in your car. Or is it original pump.

And not to thread jack , but how is your car running after 3000 miles of e85? Curious if you have checked the fuel lines for corrosion. Also curious if it's flex fuel or straight e85 and who did the tune.

If you are running flex fuel maybe the chirping is from mixing e85 and pump gas. The result will be less ethanol content, but also less lubrication due to the pump gas diluting what lubricants are added to e85.

I'm about to get the OFT from shiv and I am dying to try out his e85 tune so very curious to hear about it

Posted this one back in October. This pump is still failing, sometimes after 250 miles, others after a few thousand. We need to keep waiting once again. I'm bugging the shit out of Toyota to get a real fix and stop with these petty revisions. Find a new company and supplier because Champion is awful.

That's how mine is too. The chirps aren't quite as high pitched from my original chirping pump from November 2012. Now they're a lower pitched chirp but close to the same volume.

Im not to sure what pump revision I have. My build date is 7/13.
I haven't really thoroughly inspected the lines but there is no visible signs of corrosion. Car has been running great though. Aside from the occasional crickets. But no I'm not running flex, just the shiv e85 tune. Definitely worth every penny. There is a night a day difference from stock tune vs. E85.

Mine is only chirping in colder weather now with the October pump... Haven't heard chirps since temps are back up in the 70's and 80's. Quite odd. I don't even know what they're doing anymore.
