Crash bar arrived! VERY nice piece. This IMO will easily match the safety of the stock crashbar.
SO, so far to combat the heat, I have; Installed FB radiator with Spal fans and shroud. Radiator was also moved forward 1.5". Soon to install FB oil cooler Cut holes in bumper, and will install crash bar which will allow a LOT more air into the front Fender garnishes cut and made into vents Metal engine undertray will be modified, with an upside-down "Gurney Flap" installed to help pull air out of engine bay I will be installing some custom ducting to help direct the air through the radiator and oil cooler If all else fails, I'll be getting a vented hood as well |

Vcmc pulled the wiper cowl and reported a huge improvement. I dont believe its a high pressure zone below the lip of the hood like some say. Other wise there would be wind noise through the hvac vent grate. When my fbm kit shows up I plan on relocating my washer nozzles and pulling or hacking up my cowl. I really believe the problem is letting air out above all else.

Front mod bumper for air flow (air in)
fender garnishes and vented hood (air out) sounds about right

The wiper cowl would be a low pressure area so the hot air would get sucked out of the bay. It's a good idea for a track car but on a daily I can't see a way to make it look nice but still allow venting

IMO it's both.
The intercooler literally covers almost the entire grill area. Any air making it to the radiator has to first go through the intercooler. The air that does make it through to the radiator, then has nowhere to go due to the sealed engine bay. Quote:

Do you think you would have had the Robispec rad to work if you moved it 1.5" right from the beginning? I also have the Robispec rad and I'm wondering if I will have clearance issues with my JDL kit come install time |

If you moved the radiator forward i think you'd have enough clearance, but the Robispec is thicker. On my car, we only tried things with the thin Robi and FB fans. That didn't work so I switched to the FB radiator, but I still needed to move the radiator forward to obtain the clearance I wanted.
. The Spal fans and shroud are thicker than just the thin FB fans. You can move the radiator forward a good distance, and move the top a bit as well. If you were to do this I think it would probably work with the Robispec and your turbo kit, but I haven't seen your kit. The Robispec is a really nice setup. That, with the spal fans and shroud would be THE very best setup I could think of running, as long as there's enough clearance. |

Aside from the price being crazy high has anyone had any experience with these heat shields, www.turbosource.com ? If they work as well as claimed you basically get all the benefits of wrapping without limiting the steel's ability to expand and contract.
