Heat should not be a concern with it wrapping up front. There's tons of room in this engine bay. The only time I've seen it get extremely hot was in the 100 degree summers, or a turbocharged engine. I'd recommend the ceramic thermal coating if heat is a concern. It really helps a lot.
Ah, I just relooked at the dyno and it looks like they have a MOTEC and ECUTek tune on there and they are basically identical. I initially thought they only showed a MOTEC tune dyno.

Oof. This + ceramic coating makes this one $$$ piece. But torque comes along 1000 RPM sooner than the competition... this seems like it would be a fun and controllable/predictable car to drive at the limit.

Decisions, decisions.

@Ryan@Nameless do you still plan on giving us untuned results?

Thanks!

Would you be going catless? Our cars have 2 cats, only one is in the header so if you go nameless header you would still have a cat. I had aftermarket header + high flow cat + exhaust for over 10 yrs in Washington. As long as your ECU checks they pass you (which I would argue is stupid but that's another topic).

BUT if you show up for emissions testing with no cat they might smell it etc and then proceed to a visual inspection. You might be in trouble at that point if you can't show them something that at least looks like a cat. I don't know if they fine you if you don't have one - but if you DO have one and they think its not regulation (or your ECU throws a code) they give you a paper which says you have to go to a shop and have them certified they fixed it OR have spent a certain amount of money attempting to get it fixed. That said - I never followed the instructions just went home and either reset the ECU and drove it long enough for the sensors to be ready and tried at a different testing facility or I put the stock back on and did he same reset + test at different facility. I haven't lived there for 4 yrs but I haven't heard of them changing any rules in that regard.

In the low mount PTuning kit, I would run a no cat header. Don't want any debris sucking into the turbo. Is there a hi flow cat I can shove somewhere after the turbo? In essence would it be like a (catted) turbo back exhaust?

wut? What the heck are you talking about debris getting sucked into the turbo?

Ah, talking about running an exhaust manifold that has a cat on it, yeah that would be silly with a turbo, though i don't see why you wouldn't be running a manifold that doesn't have one that comes with the kit...

Gotta pay attention to the cam sensor harness on the passenger side, the cat my fa20 header melted part of the harness before i caught it. Clearance can be tight where the pipes dip under the head to run back to the over pipe, not saying this will be an issue with the nameless, but it's something to keep an eye on.

kit does not come with one, it is designed to bolt to the stock manifold IIRC.

I may need to look in my own bay again just to see where it comes close. I was considering a long tube at one point. Even when I happen to go turbo, that is something I will have to consider as well. JDL has a very similar design on their EL version 3. Nameless parts have always had pretty awesome fitment. Rarely does something go back to them warped.

Wow, that's quite awesome. Must have a decent flange on the stock header then.

The kit I'm referring to is the PTuning kit. They use the stock header. But cats are known to degrade, rather not risk having particles be sucked into the turbo when I can remove that cat and put one behind the turbo instead.

It's generally a bad idea to have a cat in the up pipe. Subaru used to have them in the uppipe till I think MY 2005, when they moved both cats to the downpipe.

Where would I stick this cat then? I'd rather not have it be in front of the turbo risking the possibility to suck in debris from the cat after it degrades.
