Wow, looks exciting! Plus it's safe to both drivers. Definitely a form of racing local tracks around the world could adopt, cause obviously most of us cant run like Tsuchiya, Taniguchi, and Orido on the Gunsai touge.

Tougue should have been 2 secs. 0.2secs if it were up to me.

I would be so much faster with a car to catch as opposed to having to expand a lead. Typical American, I can't stand the sight of taillights in front of me .
Psychological factors must be huge in this racing style. It would be interesting to see how many close races get reverse results if run again with the drivers swapped in starting position.

I wonder if it'd lead to more accidents with people pushing themselves/cars harder than they would otherwise.

I noticed you hestitated a few times in the corner. Try taking your turns a bit wider a little towards the outside line and set yourself up for the following corner.

Cool vid! Touge is one of my favorite forms of racing to watch. Five seconds is a huge gap though.

Best Motoring and Hot Version GT do a lot of touge. Most of their videos are in Japanese but some captions are slowly being translated. The videos on the channel are short previews/summaries of the full episodes, which are usually 90 mins and full HD (have to pay to rent; some are worth it).

Here's a link to the channel if anyone's interested: http://www.youtube.com/user/HotVersionGT/videos

I wonder about that too, also I think it would lead to worse lap times for the person chasing than they would get otherwise. I find on a track day that if I try to chase a car down, my driving line goes to shit and I focus way too much on matching their line or trying to catch them on a straightaway.
