Kickin' my ass that I didn't swap cars before this mess, my car sat for days too. Anyone know what chemicals they put on the roads in the NW? Eager to wash that shit off the undercarriage not knowing the damage it will cause.

Yes.. Snow tires...
They make a huge difference! I don't have snow tires on my FRS yet... so it sat in the garage for the last 2-3 days. I drove my IS300 with a set of Blizzak LM-60 tires... and I had no issues.. and even had some fun in a couple of turns (wide street). The IS300 is rear-wheel drive... and has performance summer tires as OEM.. and they suck in snow -- believe me... I suffered a couple of times before investing in the Blizzaks (on OEM wheels -- bought some aftermarket wheels for the spring-summer shoes).
Also.. turning Traction Control OFF can help... even with OEM all-season. Sometimes, with TC on.. the amount of "slipping" can cause the brakes to lock up.. and you won't go anywhere! I've got my new wheels and tires (for spring/summer) waiting to swap out once temps get consistently above 45... ![]() Interlagos 17x8 +35 / Mich PSS and then will put some Blizzaks on the OEM wheels for next winter. Going to see if Costco runs another special... Fall of 2012 they had a special that ended up costing (net) only $700 for a set of 4 (mounted) -- or see if one of the discount "Net" stores offers some sort of deals.

thanks for the advice guys. maybe next winter i'll be prepared for the snow. i actually took it out for a spin today around the neighborhood plowing my way out of where i parked it. managed to drive it up and down the street but still not brave enough to try to head to the main streets due to the foot high snow blocking the exit streets. Don't wanna do any damage to the front lip. with some modulation and steering it was able to move slowly. i imagine with winter tires it would be a blast to drive
