My favorite part "Next time read the whole listing first before buying so you know all the details of the buy"

This was after he told me via text nearly three weeks ago that it would be shipped in two.

I'm starting to realize it was a mistake giving this vendor my money. The group but only saved me $5 compared to purchasing from Visual Garage directly. Email sales@visualgarage.com and they'll send you an invoice for the antenna.

I filed a claim with the bank, got my money back and ordered this one. It came 2 weeks later.

Never pay for a group buy spot in full if it's one of those "Will ship when GB requirements are met". Maybe a small deposit to show you are serious about buying, but the full funds should never be required if no production is going on yet.

This guy has had plenty of issues in the past here.

I was on the very first GB for the fins, I waited until the requirements were reached before I picked one up, even then it took forever to come. It did come so I'm not complaining, but I'm impatient. However I like the fin much more than beatsonic so I'm glad I stuck with it. But long ETA ftl

That's legit advice. I'll never give more than 10% of the items value on a GB again.

What I don't understand is why the admins let someone like this to continue to sell on here. They ban users quickly enough, why not crappy vendors?

Another car site I used to frequent had a system where for $20 each year, members can pay to be a "sponsor" of the site.

Perks included 500 message allotment in your PM box, and a chat box that resides over the main forum directory to pass the time.

This made the whole concept of a paying sponsor obsolete, as the administrative costs of the website was offset by the paying members.

And for a small fee each year, I'd rather pay money directly to the site for the information received in return, rather than paying money indirectly to sponsors who support the site, who may or may not be shady.

Just my two cents.

Vendors make them money.

I get that, but don't BAD vendors also decrease the forum's reputation? To me, that would be worth something to be sure.

Full disclosure - I sent this guy a few texts yesterday, and he promised me a refund. I will see how long that takes....

Easy solution to all this...members need to stop buying from vendors who make a habit out of frustrating customers...

So it seems the thread is gone. What does "This item is not active." mean?

I'm really close to giving up hope and disputing the charge through my bank to recoup my money.

I didn't know this vendor had a terrible reputation. It was my responsibility to research the vendor before handing over my money but I was under the assumption that an "official sponsor" meant something on these forums.

I received my credit this morning - funny how it all hit the account at once, even though the vendor originally told me that he refunded half of the order at first, and the other half later (I ordered from his website without realizing who he was when this all started and had placed an order for more than one item).

Actually, the bank gave me a credit for the $$, after looking into it the merchant credit never took place - the refund was due to a dispute I put on the charge. I just got contacted by the "vendor" again, asking me to remove the dispute - even though I have no evidence he refunded anything. Then, when I told him about the dispute, he wanted my bank's information - which I refused, stating that his merchant account should have that information already, and that our business is concluded.

Is it me, or is that rather shady?
