Hi yall~
im newbie when it comes to buying car, not to mention outta state.
im located in the bay area....heard a lotta ppl say the dealers are selling the brz wayy over MSRP or sth. so i think i might go the clint way.
who here ordered a brz limited AT (with package 1a or 1b) from clint and ship it here to cali.
can i plz know the price?? and i think im financing the car..wat are the rates now from subaru or any idea if i can get a 0% APR

does putting downpayment help reduce the interest rate?
currently 24, what are the $$ of auto insurance gonna b if im getting the brz?
yes, i know...lots of questions....

but any answers to my concerns are greatly appreciated ! thx!!

Give Clint a call, he''ll answer all your purchasing questions the most accurately. If you have more questions on how a loan works, let me know because it's better to enter this conversation with a sales guy if you're educated.

I 'm not sure of 0% is available right now, but when it is (from Subaru) it's typically only for 36mo or less. A friend of mine just bought a Prem MT at 2.19% with 0 down, I think for 60mo. Interest rates are pretty low right now if you have good credit.

A down payment doesn't necessarily reduce the interest rate unless it allows you to get shorter terms (like 36mo). Longer terms often increase the interest rate slightly (like 0.5% for each 12mo, etc). Your payments would be pretty darn high at 36mo without a hefty down payment. A longer loan is easier to deal with even with slightly higher interest. A shorter loan requires higher payments, but can save some money on interest.

A down payment DOES reduce the total amount of interest you'd pat over the life of the loan, since you're making a big payment up front. Paying off the loan sooner also reduces the total interest paid. If you don't understand how interest works on a car loan, let me know and I'll explain it in more detail.

Insurance really depends, make some calls and get some quotes. The Cali regional subforum might net better responses on this one.

You ought to be asking:

1. An insurance agent for insurance costs.
2. Lending institutions (banks or credit unions) or Subaru for finance info.
3. Discuss with people you already know who have had experience in purchasing houses or cars. -- parents, older acquaintances, minister, high school teacher, older brother or sister, etc.
Much will depend upon your age, financial status, location in which you live, current income..

Ask Clint directly, he'll be able to give you an exact quote on pricing of the car and shipping if you need that. Prices vary based off the packages and the cars trims they have in stock.
Financing also varies depending on who your going with. Something he told me his dealership does is match MOST competitors. He couldn't with me but that was bc I was working with the bank and got special financing. But I would contact your bank to see what they can offer you. Being as young as you are getting 0% APR for an extended period of time will be hard. That's just off my experience seeing younger clients trying to get the best rates w/o co signers or anything.
FYI putting down a down payment doesn't necessarily lower your rate unless it's to finance less. Financial institutions usually have a threshold of rates according to how much is being financed. Also, for every 1k you pay in cash, it lowers payments ~$20/m
As far as insurance goes, it all depends on your provider and your history call them up and they're give you a rough quote

All jokes aside, none of us are providing you finance information over the internet. Your individual rates vary depending on your credit and income history.

You should really be asking the auto insurance companies for this info. None of the information out on the internet with regards to interest rate and auto insurance is applicable to you.

Buying a car is the 2nd biggest investment you'll make after (perhaps) a house. I suggest you seek professional guidance first.

As others have said your specifics will vary but since I was in a similar position I'll provide some numbers for reference:

I'm 24, make $85-90k, credit score around 750 and have never been in an accident or been ticketed.

Interest rate(As found from Clint's dealership) 1.9% with 0 down. Payments are around $500/month for 60 months.
Insurance(Full coverage with 100/300 liability and two drivers) $96/month

As others have said, we can't really help you with this. No one is being an ass, it's just that interest rates vary for everyone based on a number of factors (employment history, DTI, credit score, income level, expenses, etc). Insurance varies even more (location, driver history, credit score, etc).

Call dealers and see what their pricing is. Shipping is an expense as well so look at the final price. Also consider sales tax. Most dealers should collect it for you and pay your state but not all are willing to deal with the hassle, in which case you need to pay the state directly.

Also, please realize that Mav's joke above about posting your social security number was a joke. Do not post that information.

Can't really help you out on financing information and insurance rates as aforementioned above by previous forum members. But, I will tell you that Clint offers a killer price $2-3 under MSRP that will get you scoffed at anywhere else in CA. I got mine from him last November so if you are worried about price he's probably the way to go. Not to mention him and his team make the process very easy for first time out-of-state buyers.

One more note to add, if you're thinking about buying from Clint consider going out there in person. Shipping would have been ~$750 for me but instead I bought myself a one way ticket for $85 and spent about $140 in gas driving it back.

Great, beautiful road trip that saved me money and let me really get to know the car quickly.

Shop, I got mine for about $500 more then clint and I didn't have to take it to CHP, DMV, get it SMOGGEd and take a day off do to it all.

I just bought mine a week or so ago. Got it for 1k less than msrp with like the basic package that I dont care about (wheels locks, etc). I was going to buy from clint but considering the shipping cost, the dealer gave me a few hundreds cheaper. So. Go call dealerships around and ask for price. Learn how to negotiate. My dad used to be a car salesman and taught me well. I was able to get 1.9 apr for 60 months. Im 24 and credit score is 740 something. As for auto insurance. Call them and get quotes. Thats what I did. Oh and dont forget to ask ur bank or credit unions for an estimated preapproved loan rates for u. Hope this helps.

i got the limited BRZ for $29K OTD My MSRP was $29,3XX. I went to elk grove Subaru. You can negotiate with them, I did it all online.
