Nissan 370Z has 19 inch rims in the sport package and the Nismo version. Most people by the Z with the Sport package, therefore they have 19 inch rims. This is the perfect size tire for a sports car.

Are the wheel well really small than on the Z? Remember the cars are basically the same size.

Did not the Greddy FR-S have 19 inch rims on it?

You can have lightweight and nimble 19 inch rims, if they are forged...sure they are going to be expensive...but the car is going to look so much better.

Sure the FR-S probably does not need 19 inch rims, but at least it will be an option from the aftermarket....

Some of you are saying the 19 inch rubber is too expensive? Depends on what rubber you are looking at. The stock prius tires are hell of expensive...like $300 a tire. Look it up. You can get good decent 19 inch rubber cheaper than that. What will be more expensive is good light weight 19 inch forged rims. But even good light weight 17/18 inch forged rims are expensive.

370z looks fat and the wheel well is bigger, so it wouldn't look that bad. FR-S is a small car, even with very similar dimension to 370z, it still looks smaller and skinnier.
I'm not against you paying more for 19". It's your money and your choice. I just don't want to get a 19" because it's not as good as 18" the way I look at it. I'm not here to win wheel size war, so 18" for me.
19" means less side wall than 18", it will be less comfortable at some points in daily driving (at least to me). 18" is neither big, nor small for this car. And if I can save 100 buck on a set of 18" vs 19", I'm happy to do it. Same goes to the tire.

It's not that the car would look silly with 19" rims. I agree that it would likely fill out the wheel wells pretty well. The problem is that 19" wheels are bad for handling/performance/cost/ride quality when fitted to a 200hp car that weighs 2700lbs. So you are paying more than you need to in order to improve aesthetics while degrading many of things that make this car appealing.

hmm i wonder since the bolt pattern will be 5x100 and a humanly speced offset, if it will fit on my WRX

i agree 100%, 19s on this car is ridiculous... it almost seems comical that people are actually going that route, but as Dark has stated, it's your money/car, so whatever, haha...

i'm personally going with 17x8 w/ 235/40/17 tires since i want to keep the tire spec as close to stock as possible...

The Cayman R runs on 19", I don't see it having problems with handling/performance/ride quality. Does it cost more? Sure.

Greddy FR-S with 19"

I'll probably go with 18" in the end though.

The 5AD rims look good, but no weights posted. Probably heavy.

I don't know why more companies don't post weights.

I'm planning on 18"s. With the stock rims being over 20lbs, there are some good 18" choices at the same weight or lower. And a lot of tires are lighter at 18" than 17".

Hmmmm so there is some discussion about 19" and 18". Simply, I prefer 18" and that's what I like. I don't mind 19" but aren't for me but I would of been a little disappointed if they only sold 19". Since they sell both it is better for us.

Concept based goodies sounds too good to be true, I can't wait to see the final products. I like the wheels!
