I assume the BRZ system still has a cat.

Is there any significant gain from removing it?

Nope, no cat in BRZ system but the monitored cats in the header obviously remain.

Removing a restriction such as a cat should have a benefit.

I've got no cats except a cheater, and it's great.
Feels wide open and very free-flow, and I love it!!

But, it's not great to start up inside a garage, because half-burnt, un-catted, un-leaded fumes are really bad...
Both smell-wise and health-wise (I think).

But, when you plant your right foot, and get rewarded with a very superior mind-blowing sound, who gives a sh*t about the tree huggers...

Edited to add:
Oops, that could be interpreted as an environmentally insensitive statement, and quite inappropriate.
You're probably right, and I apologise.
Nevertheless, me and Jeremy Clarkson and the Stig dont' give a sh*t about that, so suck on it.

I'll plant some trees next week, maybe...

I live in the largest man made forest in the world. In order to be ecologically friendly and return it to what nature intended, I have responsibility to kill some trees

Came with my conversion.
It's a tiny cat & O2 sensor, that actually functions as a cat, but it's useless.
It tells the ECU that all's well on the eco front, and don't worry about the trees and the greenies...

When I'm not hooning in my car, I hug bunnies and plant trees, so it's OK.

Hahahaha. u guys are crazy.
Thanks for the info though.

Here in SA the government has bigger things to worry about than us removing the CAT.

Hey Jacques, surely your tuner has taken care of the O2 CEL?
There is also a very cheap method to stop CEL, fit a spacer to the sensor, problem solved.

In South Africa the BRZ comes standard with a performance exhaust.
