not really digging the chiseled-look, but it's definitely got the 5axis flare... can't wait to see the full shots... i'm sticking with 17s, 18/19 is too big for this car, imo...

Having seen both of the FR-S and BRZ in person and spending time with both I can say both cars are pretty underwheeled stock. 19's are perfectly fine not to mention all the added technology in the wheel manufacturing process hat helps mitigate the issue of unsprung weight bought on by running larger diameter wheels. I bet by he time enough of these get out on the streets there won't be a shortage of guys and gals on here and elsewhere running 18's and 19's including myself.

i dont give a shit about their rims, i only care about the body kit and rear wing. Id rather put some other after market coilovers/ rims. 19inch is huge. 18 inch is alright but i still prefer 17 inches on cars this small.

this car is no bigger than a 370Z, which runs 19's as an option. my goodness...i really don't get the thinking around here. at all. it's not a smart car.

18's & 19's would be perfectly fine for this car...

The rubber is too expensive.

19's are WAY too big for this car...the wheel wells are smaller than those of the Z. 18's max. Anything bigger kills the whole idea for this car: lightweight and nimble. Larger wheels = more unsprung weight and slower acceleration

17s and 18s thats it. this car is meant to be a small fast car(requiring light weight rims). putting big 19 inch or 20 inch rims is ridiculous

the wheel wells aren't even completely filled when this car is rolling on 18's. not to mention both Subaru and Toyota have fitted their modified AS1 variants w/ 18's.

somebody will put 20's on their FR-S/BRZ....that would be something to laugh at. for me going smaller than 17's would be stupid. 18" is perfect.

yea i want to see some pictures of 17s vs 18s first before i decide. But most likely 18s will be a happy medium of looks vs. weight.

I got this email from Five-Axis an hour ago, I think:

Quote:
Hi,

That is great news. We're glad this is adding to the excitement for the FR-S and BRZ. Regarding the 18" availability, we will have a FR-S and BRZ fitment for the S5:F wheel in 18": http://www.fivead.net/wheels/s5-f-1.html

With the vehicle being a different bolt pattern and offset from our current S5:F wheel design, we have had to create some new molds but we will have it available by this summer. The other wheel designs we will be offering for FR-S/BRZ will be 19" at launch. We've received feedback from both sides saying 18s are perfect for street/track use and 19s still compliment the vehicle well dimensionally and aesthetically as a daily driver. We've had a lot of hands on time with the vehicle and are working to meet both demands as best we can. FIVE:AD products launched focusing on body components and our wheel line is still growing. We hope to offer various new wheel designs in the future, in various sizes.

As for the rear spoiler and the rest of the kit, we are planning to release full images of the front and rear of the Five Axis Edition FR-S package in a week or two. We will be sure to forward info your way. If it is possible to have any of our news pieces featured at the home page/blog of ft86club.com, that would be great. If there is someone specific we should send the news info and images to, please let us know.

Thank you again for your help and feedback. If you have any other questions, just let us know.

Thanks!
