Because no one else does, and these hot, sought after cars are suddenly wasted lot real estate that no one wants. A dealer will be much more willing to negotiate on price in the winter on these. And if there are any '13s around, they'll be a deal too since they're costing the dealer money to keep holding at this point.

For example, a 13 BRZ locally is $3000 off MSRP + Snow tires included, before you even start the haggling process.

Precisely. Although I didnt consider 13s but I still got a good deal for my 14 that I couldnt resist. More than a grand off msrp.
