South Mountain Run and Dinner at Los Dos?

I think I posted a separate thread, sorry... adding to the AZ thread.

Anyone interested in a quick South Mountain run and then dinner at Los Dos Molinos (http://losdosmolinosphoenix.com/).

Let me know if there is any interest. Thanks!

I am open to suggestions on what day, will try to get the wife to come with if possible.

Mark

If firing to the side or towards the front, you probably don't need dynamat to prevent trunk rattle. If rear firing (like in jeff's car), you do.

To your ears, subs are omnidirectional, in that your ears can't tell the direction. But their sound waves ARE directional, so where they're aimed at does matter.

Example: stand in front of a sub at a rock concert. You can feel the sub moving the air around you. Stand to the side. You still hear the sub as an omnidirectional (mostly) bass, but you don't feel the air moving.

Trunk rattle is produced when the sub is rear-firing as the trunk lid is squarely in the initial path of the audio waves produced by the sub before they bounce off the trunk lid (causing the rattle, just like throwing a tennis ball at it) and diffuse into the cabin. Using sound deadener lets the audio waves get absorbed in the areas where they would otherwise cause rattle, but reflect off of other surfaces.

Whether a speaker is omnidirectional or directional is based on the perception of the ears, not on the speaker design itself. All speakers are in some way directional. It's how they're aimed and used that determines whether they function to the human ear that determines how we perceive the sound they produce.

True to a point, I've ran a box side firing for quite some time and it rattles...... the amount of SPL well determine if it rattles or not.

may the schwartz be with you....

Are you talking about the stock spoiler? It's painted SSM. I would take $150.

Fun Cars, speaking of projects the Vette Project is awaiting only two final things... well actually 3.
1) Captain Jack to finish putting in the new amp.
2) A good bath and cleaning
3) A trip to emissions (Happening tomorrow morning)

She has been running for two weeks but I have been handling little things. Its ready to rock and roll now. I took a video and put it on Facebook but now I have to get it over to my Photobucket.

Either way tomorrow while the FRS is at the dealer for its second service visit the Vette will be going through emissions and getting its bath. Maybe this weekend I can get all three car together and take some pictures. Should make for a good new Sig pic.

Which option is better?

A.) Buy the TRD exhaust from the dealer, and after my lease us up, return the car with the TRD exhaust, selling the stock exhaust for however much I can, now.

B.) Buy the TRD exhaust from the dealer, and after my lease is up, return the car and have the dealer reinstall the stock exhaust for the labor cost, selling the TRD exhaust for whatever I can with three years of use on it.

Option B with an audible, I would go to a tech day and install the exhaust for free and then go to another tech day and remove it for return. Hanging on to the factory stuff in the mean time.

may the schwartz be with you....
