What if I run 18x9.5? I'm guessing I will need coilovers then, correct?

It depends on the offset of the wheels and size of the tires. I would not run such a large and heavy wheel for autocross purposes. If you want to run that large of a wheel, I'd make it your "street" set with all seasons and just run good summer tires on your OEM or 17" wheels if you ever autocross. I just don't know about fitment; some of the car show guys in the Tire/Wheel fitment forum would probably be the better ones to ask since they tend to run larger/wider wheels.

I would want a lot more negative camber in the front for 9.5" wide wheels to be safe (you can get there with bolts, plates, and coilovers). I still want tons more negative camber for my 7" wide wheels.

Way more wheel and tire than you will ever need on this car. For autocross, you're just carrying extra weight like Biggins said. The twins just don't have enough power to merit all that. Keep light and wide enough for your needs, only go beyond like a 245 or 255 wide tire for the show car thing. These cars are meant to be driven though!

Mach V Wicked Awesomes are still very light and 18x9.5. You only need that much tire if you're putting down close to 400 whp though. And in all honestly it'll be hard as hell to balance the car around that kind of power anyway...

235 was a good spot for stock power IMO. I'm upping to 245 since I have close to 300 whp and I'm going with a slightly less sticky tire. I'd do 255 if Michelin would make PSS in that size on a 17" wheel...
